I had the regular defender and lived it, but I got a wireless charger and needed the mag defender to work with the wireless charger. Works great, love it!

Just upgraded to OtterBox 4 days ago because the last generic brand case I had fell apart. Never had a problem with the other case, 3-4 ft drop never damaged the screen or camera lenses. Dropped it just today from the bathroom counter and the camera lens smashed yes the case was on. Disappointed now have to pay to have lens fixed.

Replaced my happy purple Defender Series case that was stretching loose at the top. Easy to install, despite the reviews to the contrary. Slim and sleek and still easy to grip from the sides. I love it better that my old Defender but that one was good too.

This case is great and very sturdy. Once it is on there is no play between the phone and case and it feels like one solid unit. I have the blue/tan color one and love it. I used to have the Otterbox commuter and liked it because it wasn't too bulky. I'm happy to say this one is more sturdy without being much bigger than the Commuter.

Although such a component is a standard feature for our original Defender Series model, for this version that was engineered to complement Apple's MagSafe ecosystem we opted to make that an optional piece, which can be requested by following the instructions found with the packaging. The back of this case is way too slippery. I think it’s required for the MagSafe but definitely makes this case unusable. Regular defender case with rubber back is much better in my opinion.

You called it on the overall design of this Defender Series Pro XT case—and specifically its smooth outer finish—as being driven by the need to accommodate Apple's awesome MagSafe technology. Although the outer slipcover of our standard Defender Series case (which we do also make for the iPhone 13) will provide more grip, that model doesn't work to provide a "locking" connection to any MagSafe accessories, so there is a bit of a trade-off to consider. I have used Otterbox for all my devices for years. I spend the extra cash because they stand behind their products and they do protect from falls,etc. The only complaint I’ve ever had, is that they’re a little bulky. THIS model is more streamline and lighter. I LOVE IT!

The product is excellent. The instructions were totally ineffective. Fortunately, I was able to reach a support agent that helped me. She was at a slight disadvantage working from home and did not have the simple tech tips needed to guide me through how to install my iPhone in the Defender Pro XT case. Without her help I may have damaged my phone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Pro XT for a hike at Enchanted Rock which included some pretty steep climbs. Twice during the climbs I lost control of the phone (poor job of securing by me) and it fell and slide to what I thought would be it's demise. Both times it was recovered and in great condition. The first drop it slide about 50 yards before crashing into softball size rocks and coming to a halt. The second time it slide about 10 feet and fell another 50 feet onto a gravel wash. Both times there was no damage to the phone, but plenty to my ego. Great product. It's a bit bulky for use at work, but I use it in the field and transfer to a smaller Defender model at the office.

It is my first Otterbox case so I cannot compare it to any other models and luckily I have not dropped my phone yet (fingers crossed) but I feel confident in this brands reputation that it will keep my device safe! A bit on the pricier side but I believe you get what you pay for, and I know Otterbox is high quality.

The case is easy to put on my phone and has helped protect the phone fro numerous drops. It’s also to keep the phone free of scratches. The case is more bulky than a normal phone case but I like knowing I’m protected from drops.
