Avoid - Does not stop or prevent splatter
I was looking for a splatter screen that I could use to prevent my stove from getting greasy. I saw this OXO brand screen and OXO normally makes very good products but this is not one of them. I am very disapointed to report that you should not purchase this screen. As you can see from my photo, my stove top is covered with grease even though I used the splatter screen. I would not recommend this to a friend.

The release for the handle does not readily work and so pushing the handle in the up position bends the screen out of shape

Just ok
Biggest problem is that it doesn't lay flatter than it does, when you fold the handle in it creates a larger amount of room that it takes up - also the shield itself is ok. Not sure I will keep this, should have bought the one with the thinner screen, which I've had in the past, Overall it just worked better and folded flatter.

This helped to minimize clean up time of my stove top after cooking. of course, removing the unit to stir food causes splatter on stove top. Also, as others have mentioned, some occasional splash out from holes can hit a nearby hand or arm. I think my food cooked better, too. Clean up of the splatter guard was easy, too.

Beware. You will get burned.
The holes on this screen are too big. The grease popped up through the holes and burned me. The only way I can use this is to lay a paper towel over the top of the screen which I don't think is safe. I would have returned this if I hadn't thrown away the packaging. I do like the fold-up handle.

Another great OXO oroduct
Like all OXO products I use, this did not disappoint. I don’t know how I just learned about splatter guards, but the few times I’ve used it so far it’s been a game changer for cutting down on oil splatter. You’ll still have some splatter from when you flip the food, etc, but it helps a lot! Only con is it’s quite large so it doesn’t load well into the dishwasher, but hand washing it has been easy

Great idea but questionable quality
Gets the job done but I wonder if it's truly stainless steel. Sauteed mushrooms and that left marks on the screen that won't even come off with a scouring pad. I can see it looking dingy with time. The only upside is the foldable handle which makes it easier to store.

Great design. It fits several size pans and keeps the grease from splattering all over so much better than my old one. I was worried at first that the material and holes on the top would not allow the moisture through. I found out that was not a problem. I like that fact that the handle is sturdy and comfortable AND it folds to allow it to fit more easily for storage.
