5.51" Stainless Steel Mesh Strainer Silver - Figmint™

The Figmint stainless steel mesh strainer is easy to use and does the job. I had needed a larger sized strainer that wasn't plastic and this fit the bill exactly. I've had several plastic ones in the past and they don't last very long. I also will sometimes need to strain ghee since I make it at home and plastic is no good for that. This stainless steel strainer is perfect as it is able to withstand the hot melted butter with no issues. It's also large enough that it can double as a flour sifter and takes only a few seconds to be able to sift all of it. It's super easy to clean and doesn't have little pockets where food/materials can get caught so cleaning is a breeze. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a versatile stainless steel strainer.

Maybe it was the way it was shipped but it came to me really crushed- the mesh on it. I was pretty disappointed. I think for shipping they could have done something different. My kids will be using this for outside sorting and sifting. I received this product for free for reviewing it.

This strainer is a little bit of a hybrid. It's smaller than a strainer you would dump a pot of water through, but bigger than something like a tea strainer. You can use it to scoop things out of a pot like a spider strainer. There is a small ring at the far end that allows you to rest the strainer on top of a pot. However, that ring also interferes when you're trying to scoop things out of the pot. The metal handle does get hot if the strainer is resting on a hot pot over the stove.

This is the perfect size for small portions of pasta or rice. Using it to scoop, drain, and then put the food into another pot saves time needed to gett a strainer, put it in the sink,and drain as I usually need to do. It stores nice and compactly as well.
