Panasonic needs customer input in new phone design

When our old Panasonic system (OPS) no longer worked, we bought a new Panasonic system (NPS) based on price and the ability of storing frequent numbers and blocking unwanted numbers. What I liked about the OPS was (1) the ability to store 1000 or more phone numbers in the directory, and (2) the ability of entering the first 3 letters of a directory number to get close to the phone number I was looking for. What I disliked about the OPS was that I could only block about 240 phone numbers or groups. This small number was exhausted within a month's time. What I liked about the NPS was the ability to block 1000 numbers. What I dislike about the NPS was (1) the directory could only hold 100 numbers, and (2) one has to use group numbers to get somewhere close to the number being searched. When I tried to move my directory from the OPS to the NPS, I found that I had to cull the OPS directory entries to just the most important to fit into the 100 phone number space. Another matter: the base station states that the model of my NPS was KX-TGD830. My system came with three cordless phone sets, not one. The online specifications for the KX-TGD830 stated that the directory was limited to 50 directory entries. This misinformation leads me to question how accurate the description of the KX-TGD830 could be in other matters. If I should get another Panasonic telephone system at some later time, I would like a system that has a directory capacity of 1000 or more phone numbers, a means to search for a phone number using the first 3 characters rather than the group, and a capacity of at least 1000 blocked numbers. And, given the immense number of "features" a Panasonic system can have, I strongly suggest your technical writing staff produce a User Manual for Dummies style manual, or have an online AI version where the user can ask a question such as "how can I determine the number of blocked numbers in my system?" Panasonic has a huge number of models. Apple used to have a similar problem before the iMac's introduction. Apple reduced the number of models and made their iMac's user interface intuitive and easy to use. Panasonic should seriously consider to do the same.

Hello John! Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your experience. We appreciate your detailed feedback, as it helps us improve and enhance the quality of our products and services. Kindly note that the directory cannot be transferred directly to the new phone system and must be done manually. We understand this can be inconvenient and appreciate your understanding. We also value your suggestions about improving the user interface and providing more intuitive resources, and we will certainly consider them for future updates.

Don't let the 70 page manual scare you. Lots of options for blocking numbers and programing numbers but I just bypassed that stuff. Works fine. I chose white.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We are truly sorry to hear about the situation you experienced. If you are not able to make outgoing call please unplug all cable connections from the base unit for about 1 minute then reconnect the cables. If the issue still persists please press the Menu button on a handset, then the # key, following that enter 120. Make sure that Tone is selected and press Save. After doing so please press Menu again, followed by the # key and enter 122. Please make sure that A is highlighted and press Save. Hope this helps!
