A: they are retractable, which is good if you loose caps to pens often... its also a good way to pass the time during class/work whatever. repeatedly clicking the top is fun to do.... even though your boss or peers might not agree.

A: Please, don't let the fact that these pens are retractable keep you from buying them. These Ink Joy are the very best pens I purchased in the past two years. I have other Ink Joy pens..but these..are the best. Also, you might want to give Paper-Mate's Flair pens, a great complement to these Ink Joy pens.
