A: Thank you for your great question. The only litter recommended for use with this Litter Box is ScoopFree brand crystal litter. It is specially formulated to both be most effective and also to not strain the motor. Any damage caused by other brands of litter would void the SF's one-year warranty.

Q: Can this be used as a litter box for multiple cats? I have 3 and id love to have 1 in total rather than 3 separate.

A: Thank you for asking about this, Parker! You can certainly use this box for multi-cat homes, you would just need to change the tray more often. Most three cat homes change their tray at around 7-10 days. With this being said, even with an automatic box being used, it is typically recommended to have one more box within the home than the number of cats that you have.

Bought this to replace an older model and thought the app monitoring might be good since I have the feeder and it's attached to the wifi and I already have the app installed. Unfortunately the wifi would never connect to my network regardless of what I did to make it connect. I even set up a separate 2.4g wifi channel just for the litter box and still it did not work in the app. Save your money and buy the version without wifi.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not to hard to assemble. Wish it had a hood or cover to keep litter pellets inside. Cats are kinda scared and will take some adjusting. Not sure if this is going to be a good fit for our cats. They haven't used it enough to speak on odor, but we're hopeful! It's not super loud either.

I bought this litter box for my new kitten. It was easy to set up and she acclimated easily to it. The issue I had with it was the timing of the self cleaning functionality. The biological waste did not have time to solidify creating a mess which needed to be cleaned after every use. These challenges resulted in it being recycled. I’m back in the market for a new box. 😟

After each use the scooper scoops up the business and deposits it in a compartment to help keep odor down. I love the crystals as I feel they also help with odor. Trays are easy and convenient to change out. Definitely recommend.

This litter does not cause any smells at all. When it is cleaning, you can barely hear it. It is also very easy to go online and order refills for the litter.

It does a good job of cleaning away my cat's poop and the crystals do a decent job of absorbing his urine, but so far I wouldn't consider replacing the regular litter box with this. It's a little bulky and the crystal refill trays are slightly more expensive than I'd ideally like to spend monthly. My car is still using it and we ate cleaning out his letter box less and less, so we'll see. If it's something you want to try, I say go for it

I've been using it for about a month and a half, and with two cats, I've already changed the tray out twice. Odor is down, and I don't need to scoop their poop daily, as the metal rake combs over the box automatically and shoves their poop into a hidden compartment. The crystals are very absorbent for urine as well. Cons: Due to lack of space, I've had to place this litter box in the bathroom, which is not recommended since the crystals can absorb the extra humidity, which makes them not last as long. The refill disposable trays are pricey, but I find the convenience worth it. They will last longer if not placed in a bathroom or other high humidity location. I will keep using this box as I love the ease and convenience and fresher smell. I might look into finding a refillable tray so I can save some money by just purchasing the crystal litter refill bags.

I use this litter box and a regular litter box. Between the two of them, I need to change it about once a month, give or take. The odor isn't completely gone, but it is much better than before. My cats prefer the other litter box, but they still use this one. Occasionally, the poop gets stuck on the thing that rakes it or doesn't get completely raked. Besides those issues, it is hands-off until I'm ready to replace the tray with a new one. Replacing the tray is very easy and quick since all I have to do is remove the old one, and replace it with the new litter tray one.

It has held up well, I can’t hear it at all, I don’t have to clean a gross cat box anymore AND the smell is gone!! You wouldn’t even know I had a cat. I will say I’m not sure how it would hold up in a multiple cat household but for our needs it is perfect.

I love that it rakes automatically, I am sold on that part of the system but we will have to experiment with alternative litters and maybe a stainless steel bottom instead of disposable

For cats that are unsure, we recommend mixing a bit of their prior litter in with the crystal, and a bit of crystal in their old box. Now...if I could only convince all my cats to use it. They're 7 and 15 and have hesitant to switch. I even tried putting a bit of the litter in their existing box. Might be better from the start with a kitten, but I'm going to keep trying!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pleasantly surprised. I’m a vet student and behavioralist have taught us that electric scooping litter boxes are typically bad. That being said, my cats don’t seem to mind at all. I have two cats and typically scoop my litter boxes twice daily, so it’s nice to not have to worry about scooping this one. It’s also pretty neat that there is a phone app. My only complaint is that I go through the refill litter trays faster than I would a large box of litter, and based on cost alone I would save more money just sticking with my standard litter. I saw there are reusable trays and bags of litter, so I may look into doing this instead of the disposable trays. I may also purchase the privacy cover as well to prevent tracking.

Once a month I just take the tray out And toss it and insert another new tray that's all you gotta do!!absolutely no scooping or anything. The noise is minimal also and my cat got used to it by day 2 .
