Q: How often do you need to replace these.

submitted by WonderingMom - 9 months ago
  • A: Hi there! The Philips Avent Soothie, a beloved pacifier for newborns, provides comfort and soothing for little ones. Here’s the recommended replacement schedule: Feeding Teats: It’s advisable to replace feeding teats every 3 months. Before each use, inspect the teat and gently pull it in all directions to ensure its integrity. Pacifiers (Soothies): For safety and hygiene reasons, replace pacifiers (including Soothies) after 4 weeks of use. If a pacifier is damaged in any way, replace it even earlier. The special curved, heart-shaped shield of the Soothie is designed for maximum comfort, following the natural curves of your baby’s face. Plus, all Philips Avent pacifiers are compatible with snuggle plush toys, creating a comforting experience for your little one. Remember, keeping your baby’s pacifiers clean is essential. Sterilize them by either using a sterilizer or submerging them in boiling water. Happy soothing!

My baby refuses any other pacifier other than those one. The shape is perfect for his little hands. He has been teething and the material is very helpful for soothing his sore gums. There is also another option for when he gets a little older which will be useful when he grows out of this one! Definitely recommend this one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first my little one was not to fond of the pacifier because she just was not use to any other pacifier then the one received from the hospital. I retried and she hasn't stopped using it since. I think the soft and smooth texture is what makes her really attached to it now. She literally loves it and I couldn't ask for a better one for her. I received this product from stellar product testing panel and I appreciate them so much.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] “ I was gifted by The Stellar Testing Panel in exchange for my honest opinion.” To all new and upcoming moms check out these new Super Soothie pacifiers I’ve been l giving my baby to help sooth her. These are perfect for three to eighteen months, they also have Phillips Avent soothies for the size ranging all the way from zero to eighteen months which is great in my opinion. I liked that these are made from medical grade silicone and it’s a one piece pacifier and it’s highly durable. These are the exact same brand that hospitals use. The hospital I delivered at, these were the ones the started my baby out on. So I stayed with Phillips Avent because I trusted what the hospital use’s. This is a two pack. One is pink and the other one is purple. They have other color options to pick from. Before using I recommend placing the pacifier in boiling water for five minutes. Let it cool down and then squeeze any water out of the nipple. This is to make sure it’s clean and sterilized good so my baby don’t get any bacteria in her mouth. They are super easy to clean also. I clean hers with warm water and a mild soap. The brand recommends on the packaging that these pacifier ls be replaced after four weeks for safety and hygiene reasons which to me is very understandable. Since my baby has came home and life is normal she has taken to her super soothie pacifier really good. She likes to take it right before nap time in the day and sometimes in the mornings while she swings. These are good for helping to sooth babies when they become fussy or aggravated. They are like magic soothies. These come in very handy and I would definitely recommend Phillips Avent pacifiers to all my friends and family. These are definitely a keeper in my opinion!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have struggled to find a pacifier that our little one truly loved, until we were able to try the Philips Avent Soothie through Stellar product testing. Our little girl immediately gravitated towards it. She was able to grab it very easily and even get back into her own mouth. We love how sleek it looks and how easy it is to clean. 5/5 and we highly recommend.

I recommend this pacifier with some caveats

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very interested in trying this pacifier since my baby (currently 9 months old), had been using the 0-3 month Soothie version since birth. I had been wanting to switch to a different pacifier since he hadn't been using it for sucking for awhile anyway, just biting it for teething relief. As luck would have it, I was given this 3-18 month Soothie pacifier to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, so it was perfect timing. My baby has been using this pacifier for two weeks now and I have some observations. First of all, he immediately used this pacifier without any need for transition (I thought I'd have to initially switch back and forth between the new one and the old type he was used to, but he seemed to like the 3-18 month version right away). He is not a baby that constantly requires a pacifier (i.e. he has never cried for his pacifier), but he does reach for it when it is in sight, and that was true with this new one from first use (the bright, cheerful color also likely grabs his attention). Second, I believe he likes it because from what I can see, it is easy for him to grip, and also, the silicone it is made out of is harder/tougher than the 0-3 month version, so he readily uses it when his gums need some teething relief). A third observation is that as far as shape and size, it is a carbon copy of the 0-3 month version so it is familiar to him. Now for a couple of negatives. The first negative is that he likes to stick his finger all the way into the pacifier (beyond the finger hold) and that not only ends up making it painful for him when I try and pull the pacifier off his finger (it gets stuck because it ends up having a suction effect), but that also cuts off circulation to half his finger. He loves having the pacifier on his finger like that but I worry about the lack of blood flow to his finger (I tried to capture a picture but it's not the best photo, unfortunately). The second negative is one that I foresee down the line. In my humble opinion, this pacifier should not be used up to 18 months due to its hardness because it will misalign teeth. For babies that like to suck on pacifiers, it might make more sense to switch back to the softer 0-3 month version once several teeth have come in. For the time being, though, my baby very much enjoys this pacifier and it seems to bring comfort and some teething relief so I will definitely continue to use this daily. It is also very easy to wash and sterilize due to the material and because it is only one piece. Also, some silicone can easily attract dust but this particular silicone doesn't at all; you can tell that it is made out of the highest quality silicone (medical grade). I was also pleased to read on the packaging that this pacifier is made in the USA (it gave me extra confidence in the quality of the pacifier).

Great pacifier with baby approved natural nipple

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this pacifier to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was pleasantly surprised that it appears to be the same as the pacifier given to my baby by the hospital when he was first born. I love the nipple shape as it seems to be a more natural and more comfortable shape for my baby. I've tried the other brands with the flatter, wider nipple and my baby is not a fan. It's very easily to clean this pacifier and I like that there are no extra places for anything to get trapped because it's one solid piece without a bunch of extra frill. It's has the little holes for looping thru a pacifier clip and a finger hole that makes it easier for baby to hold in his own mouth, as well as for me to wiggle it a bit to coax him to take it quicker when he's fussy. My son did have a slight adjustment getting used to it as the brand we've been using is similarly shaped but has a wider base that fits more naturally around the mouth with openings around the nipple for breathability. Overall a great pacifier that I definitely recommend and am very glad to have been chosen to test.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I wanted to love this pacifier because of the shape, material and its lightweight. It has that perfect nipple shape with the wide base that I know is great for sucking, and is nice and soft. Unfortunately, my 15 month old son felt very different, after the first suck, he handed it back to me. I tried again, he took it out of his mouth immediately and looked at it awkwardly. Another attempt, he threw it on the floor. My final attempt, I put it in the freezer since he's teething, to see if they would get him to take it, and he absolutely refused.

Good looking pacifiers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recieved this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel program. These are the same shape of pacifier that is usually provided for you at the hospital, just a larger size to fit my 3 month old. They are such beautiful colors and the silicone is very soft. If your baby likes the hospital pacifiers, he will love these. What I loved about these pacifiers is that they are easy to clean, thanks to the one piece design, and I love the trendy colors. Unfortunately my son did not latch on to these, he would suck for a second then it would fall out, so he couldn't get them to stay in well. He is a breastfed baby who is very picky about bottles and pacifiers, so it wasn't too much of a surprise. If I were to change anything about this pacifier it would be to have a hole in the finger hold to slip a clip onto it. This brand has special clips for this hold, but it would be nice if it were more universal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the last 10 months we’ve fought finding a pacifier my baby will love & use for more than a few days. She usually stops using them when they’re hard for her little hands to maneuver. Thanks to the Stellar Review Panel we were given the chance to try the Phillips Advent Soothies and A+. She has not let these get out of her reach in three weeks. She is able to easily grasp then and manage them into her own mouth. I can’t rave enough about how easily these clean, the one piece design is so easy to make sure there’s nothing hiding in cracks. It was so easy to attach her paci anchors also! I wish we would’ve tried these sooner but better late than never!!

Philips Avent Soothie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recieved Philips Avent Soothie pacifiers through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My son was born this past June and had to stay in the NICU for 10 days before coming home. This unfortunate period of time really took a toll on our bonding period and was an especially stressful time for baby. When he came home, he still struggled with soothing and had periods of being extra fussy. We tried a wide variety of pacifiers and found him spitting them all out constantly. He is a combination of breast and bottle fed, so we figured it was a bit of nipple confusion with pacifiers. When we tried Philips Avent, he actually took to them very quickly! He is able to latch to these pacifiers and keep them in his mouth, which has been a lifesaver! The material is very soft silicone and is very flexible. Unlike other pacifiers with all of their nooks and crannies, these are simply made as one solid piece, making them much more hygienic and easier to clean. We are definitely sticking with these pacis!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Avent Soothie was a HUGE help while my newborn was in the children’s hospital. I used the soothie to calm my baby boy as he had many check-ups and tests performed during his stay. This pacifier hit all the marks in terms of comfort, quality, and simplicity in design. The finger hold helps baby latch on better and calm down faster. I like that the colors of these pacifiers are not completely solid; the see-through design is aesthetically pleasing. Overall, a great buy for those looking to soothe their fussy little-ones. I received the product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My baby girl definitely LOVES these pacifiers and so do we. They are very easy to wash and dry thanks to the uniform one piece design. They are fashionable and minimalist so much so that for someone who minds using a pacifer clip strap, for this pacifer I do not mind using a strap. Overall a solid pacifier and would recommend. I received the product as part of the stellar product testing panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received the Philips Avent Soothies as part of the Stellar product testing panel, and though I had really high hopes (because our baby uses the Philips Avent bottles) we were disappointed because our baby did not love these pacifiers. The pacifiers itself were so cute and came in the most adorable colors for our little girl. They were easy to clean, and we loved that it was in the shape of a nipple since our baby bottle and breast feeds. We found that these kept falling out of our babies mouth almost as if they were too big for her. It was hard to tell if this was simply because of a lack of sucking strength since she’s only 2 months old. Since we love them we’re going to keep trying them to see if she will eventually grow to love these more

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had the opportunity to review the Phillips Avent Soothie pacifiers as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. With a newborn on our hands, we are relying on soothing methods that work. The first thing that is appealing about these pacifiers is the sleek lightweight design and cute colors. The design of the pacifier was new to our little one. She enjoyed the shape of the pacifier which I feel mimics a nipple Shape very well. Out newborn had a hard time keeping the pacifier in her mouth when sucking. However, even if the pacifier falls on the ground it is extremely easy to clean when compared to other pacifiers. One downside is that a binky clip cannot be used that I know of. All in all, we will continue to use this pacifier.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. However, I might already be biased about these Philip's Avent pacifiers! Each of my children grew up the on Philip's Avent bottles and pacis. So, when I got pregnant with my third baby, naturally I knew which brand worked for my family and what I wanted to use. My daughter is 15 months old now and we continue to use these pacifiers! This specific design made for 3 - 18 months was made firm enough for her growing teeth and harder suction. It's a very simple design with a finger hole that makes carrying easy for my toddler and myself. It also allows us to wash inside and out without moisture being trapped inside the nipple. I love the light green and cream colors they came in! The solid neutral tones are in right now and add to the esthetic appeal. The best part is, this brand is easily found in stores in those "Emergency! We lost the paci!" situations. As a bonus, this design still works with the Philip's Avent Snuggie Giraffe I purchased for her when I was pregnant. She carries it everywhere and makes tracking her paci easier as well.

Loving the Soothies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just received the Philips Avent Soothie pacis as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and we love them! My baby had the newborn version of these and he liked them but had a hard time keeping them in his mouth when he laid down. I think that is my only complaint - the straight part is hard to keep in his mouth because he is used to more of a bulb-type. My son loves to hold the Soothies and thankfully, the finger hold makes it really easy for his little hands. The colors we received are so cute and trendy. They are also easy to clean/sterilize, which is huge for me because we have two dogs at home, so lots of dog hair on the floor. Overall, we love the Soothies and will definitely be gifting them at the next 2 baby showers we have coming up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you to Stellar Panel for sending me this pacifier is a great product my baby loves it. Now that she is teething the texture of the pacifier is sturdy to handle my baby's constant chewing. I have used this pacifier brand with all my children never had a problem. I really like the round shape that it has makes it easier for babies to grab. The rubbery material is also very easy to clean, is a product you can sterilize with hot water to secure a better cleaning. I recommend this product to any parent that is interested in a good pacifier that will grow with your baby without affecting their teeth.

Possibly the best pacifier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received this to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The Philips Avent Soothie 0-3m 4pack were overall phenomenal. Our baby really enjoyed using these pacifiers, especially using the finger hole area in the back. We loved that it was one piece and that it helped avoid washing multiple small pieces, much easier to clean! As for shape, the 12mm approximate circumference of the nipple size seems to be rather similar to a study that had an average of 11.2mm. The pacifier is made from bpa-free medical grade silicone which is pretty reassuring for those that are trying to avoid things such as microplastics. The color came in a solid people and pink vs the clear green that you'll find online. Overall, highly recommend the Philips Avent Soothie!
