Awesome lights for movies and gaming
I used to have a Philips ambi light tv way back in the day so I'm glad I can get something way better now a days, I now have 6 lights in my living room it makes it feel like an arcade and more immersive for gaming and movies I read the comments of the complaints before ordering I simply was very careful with it and made a plate out of tempered board and works very well I just made some hollow areas to not put a lot of weight on the tv(Philips needs to copy me and sell this) I spent an additional 20 sum dollars to make it not including the tools needed since I already had them very pleased will buy another one for my bedroom if this one continues working well the only thing that deserves a 1 star is the misinformation about the shipping it took a full week and 1 day instead of 2 to 4 business days

Terrible Quality checks
I have bought 3 65-in gradient strips and every single one of them the last 12 in don't light up. Once again Philips showing there amazing prowess... Not!

Defective light strips
Be careful with buying these, ordered mine only to have it delivered and LITERALLY work for .5 seconds and it went out and hasn’t worked since.

Junk
Would give this 0 stars if possible. The light cord is to beefy for the plastic holders. So it's just basically sitting on top of my tv and hanging down the sides. I will definitely be returning this. Don't waste your money on this

Syncing with TV
I wish I can sync this with my TV instead of having to get a HDMI sync box, but even with that. I can’t just used the TV app instead, so I had to go out and buy streaming media player. So it costed way more than I had expected to pay.

Not worth it.
Marginal improvement on TV experience. Not worth $300. Runs hot and drops frames. I use it with Samsung 65" TV and Apple TV 4K (New)

Philips Gradient light strip
This was an easy install came out perfect. A second set of hands if possible. You don’t even have to take down the TV. 5 minutes and your all set.

brackets popping off
The brackets keep popping off. We installed properly and cleaned with alcohol and everything. Husband is an audio engineer so he is very meticulous. We love all our other products though.

Hue Sync box and lights
The setup instructions are horrible. By trial and error and an hour of wasted time, I started to believe all the horrible reviews. Then I tried setting up the lights in the Hue app before setting up the Hue Sync app. I still couldn’t get it to work until I deleted the Hue Sync app on my phone and reset the Hue Sync Box. Then it worked perfectly. How about making some simple written install instructions. I’m tech savvy and couldn’t follow your picture diagram or YouTube video to make it work.

Truly Transformative
This has the exceptional quality that one expects from Hue products. The fact that the lights are mounted at any angle rather than flat to the back of the TV means that their light spreads out beautifully around the room; especially when coupled with the diffuser shell that encases the strip. Mounting could not have been easier. The new lighting has truly transformed the experience of watching TV and movies at home. When the Netflix logo comes up, the entire wall is flooded with red. During the programming, the light from the screen spreads out beautifully across the wall, making it feel much more immersive. The colors really do fill my field of view. The TV takes my focus, but the lighting in my peripheral vision creates more of a feeling of actually being there rather than looking through a window onto the action. There's also none of the eye strain that comes from watching TV in the dark -- you're not really in the dark thanks to all the coordinated lighting that spreads out across the wall. I long ago linked my account with Alexa. With the new Sync box and light strip, when I change between gaming and TV I simply tell Alexa to set the sync box to the desired source. I have also enabled the setting to have muted lighting after the source is turned off. This means that at night I can turn off my system yet still have light in the room. Between the light strip and the Sync box, this was not an inexpensive upgrade to my home theater. But since the results are every bit as transformative as quality speakers and receiver, the fact that the cost is on a par with those components is perfectly in line and reasonable.

The little things.
the organization and the time saved makes the higher cost worth it. I’ve noticed having switched to the hue/sync setup how bad my lighting was. The change to the hue hub has caused a improvement in my attitude and mood!

Be Better
I bought one of these on the initial release. It was broken out the gates. One side had a yellow spot that didn't change colors with the rest. Then 8 months later, it began flickering and ultimately died within 3 days. I then go to replace it and the return/exchange process is absolutely horrible. Instead of being able to simply send me a replacement, I have to jump through hoops with this 800 number who took several calls before they actually sent me a return label to send the broken product back. Now I am without the light for god knows how long. Be better.

Loving my Hue Play!
These are really great and are fairly easy to set up. And once they are, they work great as you are watching TV or movies. The color shifting makes watching someone even more fun! I really love the ones I bought.

Wow, very impressed
I must say, I am very impressed with this light strip - once you get it setup it's pretty on target with gradient colors once you find the right sync settings. I would have given it a 5 star, but the downside to this to work is you need another costly piece of hardware to drive it and paying a costly penny on the strips themself. Understandable, but because of this I am only doing this to one TV in the household. I would have love to put this on the 4 others.
