we bought three of these and they are so nice and well built we are thrilled. Fairly easy to put together if you move slowly and make sure u follow directions exactly (two us can build one in like an hour and 15 minutes start to finish). Also one of the three file cabinets came with some broken plastic file separators (all other parts were perfect) and we called and they shipped out replacements immediately and we had parts in like 4 days! impressive customer service especially in todays world. will buy from Sauder again in the future for products solely based on the quality of the product AND the unreal customer Service!

The Portage Park Lateral File is made from an environmentally friendly material called 'engineered wood,' a combination of high-quality hard wood and soft wood materials which are residuals of other lumber processes. These materials are bonded together with a synthetic resin and then applied to high heat and pressure. As others have mentioned, this is not an easy or quick assembly. However it is worth the effort- its a lovely and useful piece of furniture!! We did initially receive a damaged board but that was rectified by contacting customer service who sent out a new one right away. Very pleased!!
