Description

Pregmate pregnancy tests detect human pregnancy hormone in urine.

The accuracy of home pregnancy test results vary from woman to woman. Each woman ovulates at a different time in her menstrual cycle. The average implantation time is 9 days past ovulation. It takes 2 or 3 days after implantation for the embryo to make enough hormone for a home pregnancy test to work. That means the majority of women will not get a positive result until 11 days past ovulation. If you want to test as early as possible, but want to make sure you are getting the most accurate reading, test the day your next period is supposed to begin - you will have a 99% chance of getting an accurate result.

Q: Are these as reliable as the test sticks? I just can't believe the price... 50 tests for $16 whereas 3 test sticks are $10? Whats the catch?

  • A: These are not Targets brand, they're a separate company that sells through target. The threshold is 25. Normal. Early test? Find one that thresholds at 15.

  • A: Yes they’re reliable. I found out at 5 weeks with these. You have to use a cup for the sample and when you’r early the lines can be faint.

  • A: No, urine may be collected in any clean, dry plastic or glass container. Then remove the test strip from the sealed pouch, immerse the strip into the urine with the arrow pointing towards the urine, and take the strip out after 5 seconds.

New formula is a bummer

These USED to be very sensitive - I’ve been using Pregmate strips for years. Now they’re less sensitive than a clearblue early digital and a first response blue dye (all 3 of these were tested on the same urine separated into different cups, so no double dips). They definitely used to have a different strip/formula too because I ran out of my last bag right before I bought this one, and I was getting fairly dark lines with the old (not expired) strips, and then switched to these new ones and they’re barely visible on the same day, even with pretty concentrated urine. They also look different so I know there have been changes. Second photo, original strip is top and new one is bottom.

How I found out I was pregnant with my daughter!

Very good tests! I also use Pregmate ovulation tests. They are very clear, reliable tests! Both HCG and LH tests are my go to for when I am trying to conceive!
