Luteinizing Hormone is one of the hormones produced by the pituitary gland. It is secreted at very low levels throughout your menstrual cycle. Once a developing egg follicle reaches a certain size, LH secretion surges to high levels. This hormone surge is what triggers ovulation about 24 to 48 hours later. Your LH surge is important because it initiates the beginning of ovulation.
Ovulation is the release of a mature egg from the ovary. It signals the beginning of your fertile period. A positive result indicates the presence of a high amount of LH or LH surge. The amount of LH in your body will begin to decrease after ovulation, so you’ll only get a positive result during that crucial fertile period. Once the egg is released, it is only viable for about 24 hours. After that your fertile window is over. This makes it very important to be able to identify this best time to conceive.
Ovulation may be irregular because of conditions, emotions and other factors in your life. You can’t presume that ovulation always occurs at the same time after menstruation. Therefore, you should test again in each menstrual cycle.
How to do the test?
-Dip the strip into the urine for 3-5 seconds.
-Lay the strip flat.
-Read results in 5 minutes.

Waste of money
Either I am an alien, or the bag I got was damaged. I keep doing the test and it’s always negative. My doctor did the ultrasound and blood work, and there it was I was ovulating.

A game-changer for Natural Family Planning!
These are great!! I’ve been using them for a couple years now to help determine when I’m ovulating/fertile, for the sake of avoiding pregnancy (natural family planning). They are super helpful…it has been way easier to pinpoint ovulation/fertile time period with these than with basal temperature monitoring, for me anyway. They are I extensive, and because of that, I even have tested a couple times a day on occasion, just to get a better picture of how my Lh levels are. So super helpful!!

Ovulation Testing for Tracking
These ovulation tests seemed simple enough with directions. It was hard to tell if they work efficiently. I didn’t get pregnant during my ovulation window so maybe they did do their job. It’s important to test at the same time every day and follow directions exactly for it to be reliable. I wouldn’t recommend it as the only measurement of ovulation though if trying to avoid pregnancy.

Easy to use
I received this product in exchange for an honest review. For those TTC, ovulation strips can get expensive and you go through them lightening fast, so I'm glad we have a lower cost option. I found these easy to use and just as accurate as the brand name ones that are 3 test for $15!
