Guests are saying
This tartar sauce has garnered mixed feedback from guests, with many praising its delicious flavor and light texture, making it a great accompaniment for various dishes like fish and chicken. However, some guests found it too runny and not resembling traditional tartar sauce. Despite the concerns about consistency, its health-conscious ingredients and unique taste have won over many, making it a popular choice for those seeking a flavorful alternative.

Used to be great, not now

When I first bought this tartar sauce it was thick and stayed nicely on top of fish. The flavor was wonderful! Now for some reason it’s been diluted, is very runny and flows right off onto the plate. Plus the flavor got diluted too . I’ve gone back to making my own and will not be buying this product again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As long as you don't expect a traditional tarter sauce flavor, it's delicious! I was a little taken aback at first: it's not thick and strong flavored of pickle. It is, however, very tasty indeed. Also, I love the clean ingredients and healthy fat. I will be buying again.
Nothing like tartar sauce!

What a waste of money! When you read the list of ingredients it sounds good. It's not.The expiration date is very short. It arrived today and expires in July of 2025.We used it on some cod we had for our dinner and came to the following:It does not look like tartar sauce. This does not taste like tartar sauce. It is runny and leaves a bad after taste in your mouth.

New Recipe Very Watery And Bland

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually make my own tartar sauce but there was a good sale on Primal Kitchen products so I decided to try the tartar sauce. This was maybe 6 months ago. The tarter sauce was great! Very thick and tasty. So when another sale popped up I ordered more. I was quite surprised at what I got. First I noticed the contents were not thick but very watery. When put on the fish it just ran right off onto the plate. I thought maybe the flavor would still be good but it was not. It tastes bland just as you would expect when a bunch of water is added. I certainly cannot recommend this new version of tartar sauce and I won’t be buying it again. I’ll make my own. Lots of good recipes online.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love to mix this tartar sauce with canned tuna. The sauce has a great light pickle flavor that just makes a plain can of tuna go to another level.

But I made some cod tonight and, though the tartar sauce isn't the gloppy stuff I am used to, it was just perfect for my cod. I have a future with this tartar sauce.

Not a fan of this tartar sauce - it's a bit runny. At first, I thought it was just because it had come off the pantry shelf and was at room temp. But once it had been refrigerated, it was still pretty runny.
Not very good...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was disappointed with this tartar sauce. It was runny, even after being refrigerated . I expected it to have the consistency of mayonnaise. The oil rises to the top, even while in the fridge. The flavor is not that great either. I was sorry to have spent so much on this. :-(

The taste was fine, but it was so watery as to be basically unusable. I don't know if I got a bad bottle or if they are all this watery. I've been afraid to buy any more as I don't want another watery bottle of it.

Good sauce (just not Tartar)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sauce is not bad. If you like a lemony sauce to go with your dish then this is a good healthy option. The only problem I have is that it is labeled as a tartar sauce. It’s not like any tartar sauce I have ever had before. It’s thinner not thick like traditional mayonnaise based sauces. Also I am not sure you can make an actual tartar sauce without the sweetness. I would have used a Primal Kitchen mayonnaise base and maybe tried a stevia or monk fruit addition to mimic the sweet relish. Bottom line- I think the sauce is good. It’s just so far from tartar sauce that it’s hard to review it as a “tartar sauce”.
