A: As of 12/12/20 the picture still shows quantity 2 in the upper right corner. When I got to the store the quantity in the box was only 1.

A: I've used it in a humidifier for my 5 and 3 year olds with no issues. It will quickly start to discolor and get crusty though so I make sure to rotate the filter with every new fill of the water tank. It also helps to rinse it off every now and then as well.

doesn't fit in any Vicks cool humidifier sold befofe June 2025
If you have bought a Vicks cool humidifier from target unfortunately this filter doesn’t fit in it, even though the device itself says to use this replacement, the website tells you to use this replacement, but they fail to tell you that they have changed the way the filter fits into the humidifier very recently. I purchased my humidifier in June of 2025 and replaced filter in March 2026, already my Vicks humidifier is out of commission even though it cost me 45 bucks. Try to run it without a filter. It don’t work, the water just stays in there. I don’t know how the filter makes it or why they remove the tray the filter fits in so you can take it out of the back of the humidifier more easily, it looks like in the product design of the new humidifier that they must’ve come out with some time after June 2025. It no longer has the basket and the replacement filter is too large, long and too wide to fit into the back of the my humidifier, but now I’ve got a pile of trash in my house because it can’t be used and I have to spend time looking into if it has a one year warranty or not and waste my time reaching out to the company to try to get my money back or a different type of filter that will fit into a product they kept on the shelves until summer 2025.

Cheap brand replacement
Why would they stop carrying multipacks of this filter and other brands? This one turns black and falls apart and is going to break the humidifier. Really annoying change to cheap inventory target.

Not the right fit
I have a humidifier that I purchased within the last year. It hadn't been used as much which is why it took me a while to look into buying a new filter. This filter does not fit the humidifier I have even though a lot of the questions asked and answered stated that this was the one I needed. Nope...they're wrong.

Works, barely for VE400
I saw shirl19's review and wanted to review too, because I had almost the same experience. The Vicks VE400 I bought last year came with a PWF2 filter. It came time to replace and I have not been able to find the PWF2 ANYWHERE. Some filters online are listed as being "PWF2/WF2" but the WF2 is NOT the same size. With some shimmying and wedging, the WF2 will go into the tank and the humidifier can technically function. But I don't think it runs as well and the filter has worn out fast because it is too big. The PWF2 is smaller and more flexible.

Tight fit for the VEV400 humidifier
Tight fit for the VEV400 humidifier. It says to use PWF2 filters, but I couldn’t find them anywhere. I contacted Vicks and they said to use these filters. To make them fit, you have to soak them in water first. Even then, you can tell they’re a bit too big. I’m still annoyed I bought a humidifier and they don’t even make the correct size filters.
