Marianela Castés Boscán es química e inmunóloga, egresada de la Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), y PhD en Inmunología, por la Universidad de París VIl y el Instituto Pasteur de París, Francia, Profesora titular e investigadora, fue la creadora de la cátedra de Inmunología y del Laboratorio de Psiconeuroinmunología (PNI) de la Escuela de Medicina Dr, José María Vargas, Facultad de Medicina, UCV, Fundadora y presidenta honoraria de la Sociedad Venezolana de Psiconeuroinmunología, es miembro Honorífico de la Federación Latinoamericana de Psiconeuroinmunoendocrinología (FLAPNIE) y fundadora de la diplomatura de Psiconeuroinmunología mediante educación a distancia, Universidad de los Andes,
