Awesome science fiction book!
This book is absolutely awesome! It’s a great book for anyone that likes science fiction. It also incorporates a mystery thriller aspect as well which definitely keeps you on your toes and rooting for the good guys.

Love this book!
This book has become one of my top favorites in the last few years! I read tons of books, probably at least 2-3 a week and I’m all over the place in my interests, but still this one is a little unusual for me- I don’t know much at all about video games or 80s nostalgia which are the main themes of the book. I’ve read it 2 times (will probably read it again someday) and I almost NEVER repeat read a book! I was surprised how much I loved “Ready Player One” but it quickly pulled me in! The book is so much better than the movie, don’t cheat and watch the movie thinking it’s the cliff notes version, I promise you’ll enjoy the book more.

It was just okay.
I am not sure how I feel about this one. I guess I can say that I was entertained by it but it wasn't my favorite. I guess the downfall for this one was the fact that it was a dystopian setting. Which I knew going into it but for me it took a little bit away from the story. I really enjoyed the gaming aspect of this story. The characters are great. I enjoyed solving the gaming clues with the main character, Wade Watts. I enjoyed the detail provided by the author to set the scene and the amount of imagery he provides. However, the whole IOI (evil corporation) didn't do it for me. It really wasn't believable or at the very least I don't feel was executed well. I couldn't really connect with Samantha as being the "leader" of the rebellion. Something about her just didn't seem like a really strong character but more so a person really hell-bent on revenge. Not that there is anything wrong with that but it would have been nice to have had her be more grounded. Overall I enjoyed the story and am happy that I gave it a shot.
