Q: do i spray this in my hair before or after being in the ocean
This texturizing spray offers a delightful vanilla scent and aims to create effortless beachy waves without the crunchiness often associated with similar products. Many guests appreciate its ability to enhance natural waves and provide a soft, touchable texture. However, some guests have experienced issues with hair dryness and product stickiness. Overall, it is a popular choice for those seeking a light, summery hair mist that adds volume and definition.

Brittle hair
I understand it has salt, but I read that it had extra ingredients to soften hair so wanted to give it a try. Made my hair brittle, like a thick gel casting, it made them so dry! Very disappointed!

Sticky mess
I picked up this product because I have wavy hair, add the humidity and ugh. It said no actual salt is in it, sounded great. I did not expect the extreme stickiness. It left me with clumped together pieces and sticky hands. I won't get it again.

Meh
I was looking for something that gives that ocean hair look. Maybe I was expecting too much. I've only used it once and I wasn't impressed. It gave the tacky feeling and took the place of my normal mousse and gel routine ok but didn't give me the big beautiful waves that I get from the ocean. It's possible that I need to play with the amount. Maybe I put too much in my hair. I'm not super motivated to try it again though.

it smells so good and makes my natural waves pop. I get less crunchy hair if I play around with spraying my hair with water first vs applying it on dry hair

Save yourself from this product!
I like how it made my hair look shiny and not dry while also giving it a nice volume but after using it for not even a week my hair started falling out A LOT and also makes my hands that I use to spread the product around my hair VERY DRY and made my skin start peeling. I immediately stopped using this product and all these problems went away. I would definitely not recommend this at all.

Buy something else
This is a waste of money if you have normal-fine hair. It flattens the hair and any chance of a bounce. The hair looks drab and lifeless. When I looked online the first ingredient is water which I usually avoid with fine hair. Also very very sticky. Scent is fine.

Waste of money
I regret wasting money on this. My daughter has fine, wavy hair which is not frizzy but she likes the curls to get bouncy. This product did nothing but make her hair limp and lifeless. I tried it as well and got the same result. The product is very sticky on my hands and difficult to wash off. There isn't an ingredient list on the bottle but sure enough online the first ingredient is water. I usually steer clear of hair products that list water as the first ingredient since that just flattens fine hair and destroys any style you tried to create. Maybe this might work to tame thick flyaway hair but avoid it if your hair is normal-fine. This doesn't deliver.

I will use this for the rest of my life
I never write reviews, but there is genuinely nothing anyone could say that would make me stop using this. You could tell me it takes 25 years off my lifespan and I’d nod while reaching for another bottle. If Saltair ever discontinues this spray, I’ll be inconsolable. I’ll need a formal grieving period. My hair is naturally kind of wavy, but without help it mostly just looks confused. A few sprays of this and suddenly I have actual beachy waves instead of whatever was going on before. It defines my waves, cuts down the frizz, adds texture and volume, and somehow doesn’t leave my hair crunchy, sticky, greasy, or oily. It gives effortless beach hair instead of early-2000s “crunch.” I use it literally every single day. At this point, Saltair and I are in a legally binding relationship and this has become my entire personality. The mirror pics are with this product—the one of me looking away is without. But you should definitely be able to tell without me saying that.

Defective spray nozzle
The spray nozzle clogs and is hard to clean out. The effectiveness of a texturizing mist goes completely out the window because there is no misting action. The scent is nice though.

Waves and delicious scent
Immediate waves and saltwater vanilla is hands down the BEST fragrance. I turn heads everywhere I go, now i smell like it literally from my head to my toes and the way my curls pop I'm here for it all.

Gross
First off, the nozzle clogs. I would rinse the nozzle with warm water and I'd get one and a half good sprays, then it would spray a jet instead of a mist, so I'd end up with globs of gunky hair. The texture is more sticky than I'd expect from a salt spray. Luckily, diluting it to 50% (1 part product, 1 part water) and using one of the spray bottles in the travel toiletries section solved the texture and clogging issue. Diluting it didn't fix the other problems though. It doesn't create nearly as many curls/waves in my hair as other salt sprays do. It's more likely to give me a greasy bed head look, even if I lightly apply the diluted product. *Definitely* won't be buying this again. The only reason this gets two stars instead of one is that there were no lasting negative effects, like a reaction or hair loss. Smells good though.

Great product
I really love this spray! It gives my hair such a soft, effortless beachy texture without making it feel dry or crunchy. My hair still feels hydrated and lightweight, which I appreciate so much. The vanilla scent is also absolutely beautiful — soft and not overpowering. Perfect for creating quick, natural waves. gifted by saltair

Good value for a texturizing spray
I sprayed it on dry hair before curling and it helped my hairstyle last longer. I can smell the vanilla scent for a couple of days after using. My only downside is that it left my hair feeling a bit too dry and slightly crunchy. It works nicely to extend the hold, but I’d advise to use it sparingly or pair with a moisturizing product. Complimentary from Saltair.
