Great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up O.M. Scott & Sons Bermudagrass Grass Seed and gave it to my sister, who really needed something to bring life back to her front yard. She was dealing with patchy, dry spots and was skeptical at first—but the results were better than expected. I’m really glad I gave it to her—it made a visible difference. now her front yard looks way healthier and more uniform.

Decent Results, but Requires Patience in Florida H
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this grass seed in my Florida yard, and while it eventually started to sprout, it took longer than expected—especially in our hot, humid climate. The coverage wasn’t as full as I hoped, even with consistent watering. I appreciate that it’s designed for bermudagrass, but the patchiness made it feel like more work than I bargained for. Decent product overall, but be ready for a slow start and spot touch-ups.

Expensive experiment that completely failed
I’m very disappointed with this product. I overseeded approximately 5,000 square feet of my lawn, carefully following every instruction to the letter, proper soil preparation, watering schedule, and timing. Despite all that effort and expense, absolutely nothing grew. Not a single blade. I have also seeded a bare spot separately. While something did grow there, it was a very thin and unattractive grass, not at all what I expected or wanted. It looks weak and unhealthy, and I have no intention of keeping it. I had high hopes for this seed, especially given the cost, but it has been a complete waste of time, money, and effort. I feel misled by the product description and marketing. I expected a lush, healthy lawn, not bare soil and disappointment. I would not recommend this seed to anyone looking for reliable results. Very frustrating experience.

When the seed begins to germinate the color and texture may be different than the existing grass. Once it matures it will blend in well with the existing grass. Didn't work for me
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I applied this in early spring to encourage some grass growth in some bare patches of my lawn. The ground was prepped, seed applied and topped with some top soil- watered daily. Nothing after a month. This did not work for me

Scott & Sons Bermudagrass Grass Seed should be planted in early summer. This seed requires soil temperatures between 75 - 90 degrees. In the spring, it takes a lot of consistently warm temperatures to warm up the soil, especially in the northern states. Cooler nighttime temperatures can delay the germination process even if it is warm enough during the day. If any weed control products are used on the new seedlings or prior to application, it will prevent the seeds from germinating and kill the seedlings. It can also take 5-12 days to start to see the seed germinate under ideal conditions. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. Great seed with a large coverage area
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This grass seed is great quality. I've already seen growth and I just planted about seven days ago. I haven't seen it's drought resistance yet but if it's anything like other Bermuda grass seed we've used in the past in other areas it should do quite well in the Texas heat.

It is easy to use if have handheld spreader. I noticed it also helps with weed control. As mentioned on the bag, this product does not contain any pesticides. Highly recommend it.

All-in-one grass solution
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I was impressed with the O. M. Scott & Sons grass seed. I am located in zone 7b, so the soil temperatures and average daytime temperatures are just getting warm enough to support Bermudagrass. It has taken awhile for this to germinate, however that has more to do with inconsistent conditions. The instructions for use were clear and easy to follow. I like that this combines fertilizer and soil treatments into one step with the grass seed, eliminating the need for multiple applications. I would recommend this product to someone wanting to quickly establish a new lawn. Or someone wanting to patch repair an existing one.

Wait and see
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Still waiting to see how this grass seed grows. So far, it was easy to spread. I followed the directions for optimal growth, and now I am waiting to see progress. Love that it is drought tolerant, especially since I live in Florida where it can be hot and dry for days.

Good for backyard

Quick germination, easy to grow.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had some large parts of my front lawn that got destroyed from workers doing concrete work in my back yard. It needed Bermuda seeds to help it fill back in. The OM Scott & Son’s totally worked. I spread it out quite thickly and gave it a nice bit of watering for the first 2 weeks. Now my grass looks normal again and you can’t even tell where it was destroyed. Great product. I gave some to my neighbor and he used a bunch on his lawn too with success.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We planted this to overseed sparse patches in our lawn near the pool. The seeds are tiny but cover so much area and contain fertilizer which makes for quicker, healthier results. Packaging states it is drought resistant keeping our lawn beautiful in the hot Texas summer. I love that it does not contain harmful ingredients to our pets. The only minus of this product is that it is somewhat stinky upon application. Looking forward to a thicker filler lawn in no time thanks to Scott’s!!
