Description
Take home meals to take on dinner with the Shepherd's Pie Meal Kit. This meal kit includes Ground Beef, Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, Sliced Carrots, Condensed Tomato Soup and Dijon Mustard.
Prep. Plate. Serve.
1. Cook ground beef: Heat large skillet on MEDIUM-HIGH; add ground beef. Cook and stir, breaking apart pieces, until completely cooked through.
2. Meanwhile, heat mashed potatoes: Puncture film and microwave on HIGH for 3 minutes. Carefully remove film and stir. Microwave, uncovered, 1 minute longer or until hot. Set aside.
3. Prepare sauce: Add can of carrots (no need to drain), condensed tomato soup and 1 tsp. Dijon mustard to cooked, crumbled beef; stir until combined. Cook beef mixture an additional 3 to 4 minutes until sauce is reduced wand slightly thickened. Serve topped with warm mashed potatoes.
*Bake shepherd's pie, if desired. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Add cooked beef mixture to bottom of 8x8 inch baking dish; spread warm masked potatoes evenly over beef. Bake 15 minutes or until mashed potatoes are slightly golden brown and meat layer is hot.

The ground beef in the kit was expired. It expired on May 20th when I bought it on may 24th.

Love getting these kits as a easy dinner idea. However this one was a miss for me. I just couldn’t get past the tomato soup making it taste like ketchup. I feel like with some slight changes it could be a lot better, maybe mixed veg instead of carrots, and a cream of mushroom or cream of celery instead of the tomato soup.

I love how easy and fast these kits are. They are my go to on busy work/school nights with my son. This one isn’t quite as good tasting as the others though. I added a can of baby peas as I like shepherds pie with peas. The tomato soup taste was too strong for me. It was fine and we finished it, just probably will stick to other meal kits from now on.

this was very simple and actually had an amazing flavor-I did add half a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the mixture and a little bit of pepper. I did choose the option to bake it for 15 minutes and add a little bit of paprika to the top of the potatoes, which is traditionally done for this meal, but these are all things already have on hand.
