Q: Can it move around on carpet?

A: It’s a laser. So no trouble on surfaces unless you have a high pile carpet. The light might scatter a bit.

this laser light is terrible. There is no strength in the light and it doesn't throw very far. the light dot is so small it's hardly noticeable. you need to be in pitch dark to notice the light and it doesn't show up on soft surfaces very well. I will be returning this product and will buy a basic laser pointer instead.

Initially this was great fun for my cats, and they got much exercise from chasing the dot around the house. Eventually they became frustrated because, of course, they can never catch it. Cats love to chase things, but only if they can catch it. Also I worry about the laser accidentally shining into their eyes. Not worth the risk. Furthermore, I got headaches from watching the red laser dot, so it was not good for my eyes.
