I bought this to store my pens, markers, and map pencils in. I am sooooo pleased I did because if I bought a "pencil pouch" it would've been full of fragments of the pencils & spill all inside my backpack, but since this is a box, that does not happen. Although the chips of the pencils still collect at the bottom nothing a little water can't fix, unlike how those cloth or fabric "pencil pouches" can't be rinsed out unless you dry them, and afterward they just feel strange. Thank you Sterilite® for making my backpack cleaner and neater!

The left side of the hinge area broke immediately. In less than a day. It seems cheaply made for the money. I bought a 0.99 one to replace it.

Perfect for keeping all 130 colored pencils
I was needing something for my colored pencils when I got this, I was tired of using a gallon bag to hold them and it destroying them. I found this, which is what I was looking for exactly. It holds at least 130 colored pencils and my pencil sharpener easily. I could put more in the box if I had to. But it's been so convenient and easy to open and use!

Generally Good and Useful Size
After looking at many boxes, this one was closest to the size I need. Target has it with a clear lid (I like easily seeing the contents) whereas other stores have colored lids. Its form is efficient but the construction is fairly lightweight. I asked Sterilite what type of hinge it has but did not receive an answer. Its hinge is a flap of plastic; I hope it stands up to continued flexing but if it breaks will use it as a loose lid. The price was good compared to similar products. Sterilite is a good company.
