Sticky Situations - by Betsy Schmitt (Paperback)

About the Book

Book Synopsis

You can't control the sticky situations your kids will face--but you can prepare them to make good decisions with this interactive family devotional.

Sticky Situations is a Christian devotional for families with children ages 8 to 12 that offers short readings for each day of the year. Each reading begins with a kid who is facing a moral dilemma and ends with multiple-choice solutions for the family to discuss. Often there is more than one acceptable course of action to take. Parents will find tips in the back of the book that interpret the various choices made by the children and offer follow-up questions for further discussion on each topic. Scripture references are provided to give biblical insight into each situation.

Designed to instill positive decision-making skills, this daily devotional for kids covers relatable and age-appropriate topics like:

• Dealing with comparison and peer pressure
• Navigating friendships and bullies at school
• Living with integrity
• Honoring the God, even when others aren't

Sticky Situations is a great discussion starter that will give parents the chance to share their own values with their children.

From the Back Cover

Sometimes life gets sticky, doesn't it?

R-rated movies. Cheating on tests. Friends that look for trouble. There are all sorts of temptations that steer kids away from doing what's right. And there are many responses to these situations-some that will get kids in trouble and some that will glorify God.

Together, parents and kids can read "365 Sticky Situations" to discuss what kids should do when faced with dilemmas that are not cut and dried. Each day's devotion includes a Sticky Situation, multiple-choice options for how best to handle the situation, and a Scripture reference to show what the Bible says. A separate answer section gives the ideal response and lists discussion questions that will help you talk with your kids more about the situation.

You won't be able to provide kids with all the answers they will need in life, but with "Sticky Situations, " you can give them a good start!
