Swanson Stinging Nettle Leaf – Capsules [400 mg, 120 Count]

I was prescribed nettle leaf for managing androgenic PCOS symptoms by my provider. I was using a different brand previously and had no issues. I then switched to this brand. I ended up in the ER. Not because I was allergic to the stinging nettle leaf, but because the dosage is so high that it actually acts as a stimulant to the body. The more research I have done the more concerning this product has become to me. I’m writing this as a warning to others, especially to women who are thinking of using this for PCOS or other hormonal issues, that this high of a dose of this supplement causes significant stimulatory effects. If you are curious, just look up stinging nettle roots stimulatory effects into Google. After taking it for a month, I ended up with heart palpitations, having to take beta blockers and now I have to wear a heart monitor because of this stuff. The typical recommended dosage is I believe between 300 to 700 mg per day, this supplement has 800 mg. It also contains magnesium steerage which causes issues for people as well. Do your research before taking this, this is a low quality brand. If you’re looking for a better nettle supplement, go to Gaia herbs.

I take this product with Swanson brand Saw Palmetto for BPH. It is a little strong but it worked well. After three weeks I had the same amount of flow as I did with that "max flow" pharmaceutical. I do not have high blood pressure so "max flow" lowers my good blood pressure to unsafe level. With Palmetto and Nettle, I don't pass out from extraordinarily low blood pressure, and maintain normal energy levels. I could tell by the first day that this supplement was stronger than the stuff I got at Megalo-Mart. By week three I had much better flow and was emptying my bladder completely. I had some allergies the first week I took it but lower the dose to every other day and saw palmetto every day I adjusted to it well.

Can’t really tell if it’s making a difference just yet

Helps my son's girlfriend, who has a cat allergy. Her congested reaction when she visits is consistently noticeably improved. Would have given a 5, but not sure if is nonGMO or organic.

It helps relive the sneezing and itchy eyes from allergies.

Excellent herb for restarting failing kidneys. Taken twice a day with Buchu leaf and cranberry it restores kidney function.

I am sure it would have been a great value, if I would have received the correct order, instead I got one bottle of Nettle and two bottles of something I would never order!

Nothing better for my pollen allergies-- it's a nutritious antihistamine with no side effects. I love Nettles and this one works well.

This has so many healthful uses. I've used in for years and without going into too much detail because this probably wouldn't get used, suffice in saying that I will continue to use until something better comes along. Do your research and you'll see what I mean.
