I bought this unit and was suspicious of it because of how small the box was it came in and how light the materials were (about 30 lbs and real thin). As I was building it up, I had trouble with several crossbars not fitting into place and I realized they were defective - the rivets weren't prominent enough to fit into the tear-drop holes. At that point, I'd spent over an hour building up most of the large rack and I did not feel like taking it apart to return or strapping that gigantic thing to the top of my car and lugging it into the store. I can use about three quarters of it, the rest just went to the recycle bin. Where Target blew it is on the customer service end of things. You can see that transcript here. Very poor customer service, not typical of Target at all. Do better "Mal from Target" and maybe get some customer service training. Super unhelpful and maybe don't just end a chat abruptly when you're done. Just not cool. Mal: Hi! My name is Mal. How can I help you today? Me: Hi good evening Mal: Good evening Matt! However, about 25% of it is unusable Me: It's a shelving rack and several of the crossbars have rivets that won't actually fit into the eydrop-shaped holes to hold the rack together. Me: I can use the parts that are built but it's not everything I was hoping for. Is there anything we can do? Mal: I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your shelving unit, Matt. You can return the assembled item at the store and for mail return you have to disassemble it. Mal: Once the item is returned a refund will be credited to you. The agent has ended the chat.
