Doesn't charge at all and way too complicated for a 6 or 9 yr old
Seemed like a great idea for a 6 yr old but definitely way too complicated…maybe for 13 or older. We assembled everything and let it out in the sun to charge the solar panel but unfortunately it never charged. Tried again under a light bulb and still nothing. Huge disappointment after hours of putting it together. Don’t waste your money or time.

Good for tormenting thine enemies
We’ve bought Thames and Kosmos toys before and loved them. This is not one of those toys. This is made of seemingly hundreds (millions?) of tiny pieces that you need sharp tools (BYO) to remove and assemble. The box says ages 6+ (with adult supervision) but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend for anyone under 14 unless I wanted to torment their parents. So many pieces! So many sharp bits! Don’t do this to yourself. You deserve better. Try the Thames and Kosmos telescope though! That was a ton of fun and not at all punitive to our family. They do actually make good toys.
