Book Synopsis
A feel-good, holiday-themed romantic comedy about identical twins who switch lives in the days leading up to Christmas--perfect for fans of Christina Lauren's In a Holidaze and Josie Silver's One Day in December. All they want for Christmas is a different life. When chef Charlie Goodwin gets hit on the head on the L.A. set of her reality baking show, she loses a lot more than consciousness; she also loses her ability to taste and smell--both critical to her success as show judge. Meanwhile, Charlie's identical twin, Cass, is frantically trying to hold her own life together back in their quaint mountain hometown while running the family's bustling bakery and dealing with her ex, who won't get the memo that they're over. With only days until Christmas, a desperate Charlie asks Cass to do something they haven't done since they were kids: switch places. Looking for her own escape from reality, Cass agrees. But temporarily trading lives proves more complicated than they imagined, especially when rugged firefighter Jake Greenman and gorgeous physician assistant Miguel Rodriguez are thrown into the mix. Will the twins' identity swap be a recipe for disaster, or does it have all the right ingredients for getting their lives back on track?

Cute book to read around the holidays! Definitely a little sappy and predictable but if I’m being honest that’s what I want out of a Christmas romance book.

Clean Romance; Alternating POV Was this story a bit predictable? Yes, but it’s also a sweet heartwarming romance; perfect to get into the holiday spirit. Definitely a hallmark movie in a book. While this wasn’t my first “swapping places” book this season, it was definitely my favorite one. I enjoyed watching twins Cass & Charlie navigate their sisters lives. While they both bake for a living, it was fun to see how they set out on different paths. Be ready to get in the baking mood, baking is a huge part of this story! Of course, twice the female leads means twice the Hallmark worthy boyfriends! I’d happily cuddle up with both Jake & Miguel!

Before they know it, they are both developing romantic feelings for the men that have come into their sights annnnnd dealing with some unforeseen…circumstances. Let’s just say there are some awkward moments involving a town gossip, a tree branch, and an arrogant co-host. Cass and Charlie are twins, both in the baking industry. Cass works for her family’s bread shop and Charlie is on a cooking show vying for host spot on the show “Bake My Day”. When Charlie has an accident on set and ends up with a concussion, where she loses her sense of taste and smell, she is determined to not let her nemesis win the spot for host on the show. Charlie gets an idea to switch jobs and lives with her sister and Cass agrees. As they get more and more entangled in each other’s lives, will they be able to go back to their normal lives eventually? This fun, smart, witty Rom-Com will have you turning the pages to find out more. A book that will get you into the holiday spirit! I would love to see this book made into a mini series! Be sure to add it to your TBR list! Did you know that Maggie Knox is the Pen name for Karma Brown and Marissa Stapley? Two wonderful authors who came together to write this book!
