This book is unbelievably good. At first, I thought “cool, it’s about fitting in!” But oh no! As you read further, this smart cookie didn’t feel so smart in the past. He felt anxious and not as good as the other students because things that seemed to come naturally to other pastries did not come as easily to him. Eventually he realizes that he is talented in his own way that doesn’t come as naturally to other confections and he begins to love himself and gain the confidence to be the Smart Cookie that everyone is, but in their own special way. This was such a wonderful, meaningful story and is probably my favorite of all of Jory John’s amazing stories. I am probably going to go bankrupt buying a copy for every single child I work with until the end of time.
