TRAILS Board Game: A Parks Game

I gave this game to my grown son who likes to hike in National Parks. This game was easy to play after you watch the adorable instruction video that can be viewed online. The game can be played in less than an hour which is great if you are short on time.

This is a fun game for the entire family. We love it.

Too complicated. My husband is creative, skilled and loves the National Parks. He feels it just isn’t worth the time. Sorry. The quality and components are very nice quality but not worth the time. Hoping I can return it.

Great game! Took a lot of reading to get all the rules but once you get started it’s easy to play. Would recommend for couples to play.

A quick, fun game of strategy. Plus, with the cold snowy weather, it's nice to have a game that gets us "Outdoors"!

Fun game! A little confusing the first time you play, but isn’t any game? Some helpful YouTube videos (the key master one especially) help make sense of instructions. Gets easier from there on out. We’ve played with 2 and 4 players and both are fun! Definitely recommend.

I was so excited about this game and ready to love it, but after struggling through one game with learning the rules from scratch front the instructions, I am bewildered by all the reviews that said this was an easy to learn, fun game. It's incredibly complicated, the rules don't make total sense (there's one card that we could find no instructions about how it could get used/awarded...), the writing on the cards is tiny so you can't read them from across the table, and the strategic play aspects are pretty weak. (The strategy is just collecting the right combo of "resources" to buy the cards on offer by the time you get to the other end of the trail in 1-5 turns.) We started off the game with 6 people (the game only supports 2-4, so we were going to play in teams) and only 2 of us persevered to the point where we could even start playing after reading the rules. The best aspect of the game is the beautiful art on the cards. I'd be hard pressed to pick the worst aspect of it though--too many contenders.

This is a smaller and shorter version of Parks which is one of our absolute favorite games. Enjoy your hike through the days as you collect resources that can be used to buy badges and make sure to take plenty of pictures to get the coveted bird trophy! Easy enough to teach in 10 minutes but a game that will keep you coming back.

Beautifully designed game and really fun…. Once you understand the rules. The wording was confusing at first, but we found a video online that thoroughly explained it. Once we got the hang of it, it was really fun! Mix of competition and collective strategy.

This game is beautifully made, but very boring. You’re just moving back and forth across the same trail. It was anticlimactic. Disappointed.

I love this game! I also own the game Parks and enjoy that as well. I would say the games have a similar feel, both in artwork and game play mechanisms, but are different enough to own both. It is a simpler game than Parks and easier to learn.

This is a great game for experienced and inexperienced players alike. Great artwork. Gameplay is blended and nuanced between strategy, tactics and just plain fun. Give your kids a chance at an educational and mind-stretching game that isn't just moving plastic pieces around a square board. And, finally, what a price point for a game like this.

We bought this since we enjoy the Parks board game made by the same company. The gameplay is similar so it was quick to learn, but there are different objectives overall. We enjoyed playing this game and it’s small enough to pack on trips, so overall a good game for us.

A perfect miniaturized version of Parks. Great for the brewery or camping trip! Great game from a great game company. Buy EVERYTHING they make.

Look, I'm a big fan of all of Keymaster Games published games and this one is no different. I enjoy the quick simplicity this game supplies while giving the full feeling of actually hiking.

I'm not normally a fan of small card and board games, preferring Catan and the like, but WOW is this game fun! The art is fantastic, pieces are made of wood and recyclable cardstock, and a donation goes to the National Park System every time you buy the game. I wish there was a single-player version like in Keymaster's other Parks game, but this is still a new favorite.
