Didnt love as much as we hoped we would
My boyfriend and I play board games multiple times a week. We were hoping we would love this one and add it into our rotation. We were looking for something that didn’t take as much time or strategy as some of the larger games in our collection but also weren’t as simple as a few quick games we have. I’m not sure if it was just the theme of the game. But it really hasn’t held or grabbed our attention in the way we were hoping for. Might be more for the traditional painting artist type. Or maybe more for people that like collection type games. Just didn’t do it for us.

I enjoy playing this game in all player counts (2 to 4 players). The game can be very competitive at 2 players. The boards feel like they are made of thick cardboard, and the tiles have a nice weight and feel to them. I recommend playing this game on a stable surface. There is an expansion for Azul that provides plastic trays to keep the tiles and score markers in place. The smaller travel version ,Azul mini, is another option that is designed to keep things from shifting around. I personally prefer playing regular size Azul because I like the larger tiles.
