Q: What age group do you consider appropriate?

submitted by Pat - 2 months ago
  • A: Anyone 8 or older- it’s fun for adults too!

submitted byboard game - 2 months ago
  • A: We enjoy it as adults, but we also played it with a seven-year-old. He did fine, he needed as many reminders as I did the first time about the number of cards and sometimes needed help seeing the bigger picture to tie his cities together with less moves, but that’s about the only difference. My niece has kids and she homeschools and she actually uses it as an education tool. The one thing we do as adults and especially when we are playing with kids is we aren’t mean to each other. We try to be thoughtful about not blocking someone to just be blocking someone. You can decide how cutthroat you want to be.

  • A: The basics are pretty simple to pick up. I'd say kids as young as eight can enjoy it. There may be some anger involved when an opponent takes their route, but that's about it.

Q: Why is "Ticket to Ride" called a ". . War Game"?

submitted by CDL - 2 months ago
  • A: Silly term, they are using, but the "war" aspect comes from the strategic tension and "cutting off" opponents by claiming key routes before they can, much like military strategy, but with trains.

    submitted byColleen D - 2 months ago
  • A: Probably because it involves strategy to grab certain train lines before someone else or potentially to block someone.

Q: how long does one game take

submitted by wizzerd - 2 months ago
  • A: When we first played in a group of four, it took almost 2 hours. But our friends play as a couple and they say 30 to 60 minutes. I think there’s just a bit of a learning curve at the beginning.

Q: How is this "refreshed" board different from the older version?

Multiple delayed shipping notifications created much distress. Should have been honest from the beginning that the item would not arrive by Christmas so it could have been purchased elsewhere. Such an inconsiderate inconvenience. Extremely disappointed.

Family game!

Great game for families. Adults and kids alike can enjoy this competitive game. There is some strategy involved, but kids are able to easily learn and play, too.

Super fun game. Kids like it and keep asking to play. Not difficult to learn but there is strategy to it. Best with 5 players but can play with 3 or 4.

New art is bad

The new arts looks A.I. generated or at least assisted. It looks bad. This game is supposed to be set a century ago and the new art doesn't fit. I would recommend just buying an older version of the game.
