This surge protector is used for protecting tech gear: MacMini, Macbook Pro, HP printer, high tech desk lamp, external speakers, occasional other peripherals. It has not been tested against power surges and outages; none have occurred since the purchase. However, under normal circumstances it works great with plenty of outlets to take care of everything at once.

I use the surge protector for all of my electronics in my home office, including computer, computer accessories, cable television, Wi-Fi, paper shredder, and desk lamp. It was easy to install, has outlets nicely spaced to accommodate odd-sized plugs, and is easy to keep out of under-foot beneath my L-shaped desk. The extra cables that are included with the surge protector are a nice add-on and will be useful to others who are more technologically-tied than I am.
Great industry-standard surge protector

The layout of the outlets is excellent, and the outlets snugly hold onto what you plug into them. This one had plenty of outlets for my entire entertainment center. The surge protector is solidly built. All of the Tripp Lite surge protectors are certified to meet real industry standards, so you know you're getting the protection they claim. I did run into one issue: I wasn't able to use the network cable surge protector ports. I tried to use them, but the network connection was unstable and would frequently drop. Bypassing the surge protector fixed the issue.
Would buy this product agan.

I have my computer, monitors, printer, and speakers plugged into this surge protector. So are so good. What I like about it most is the noise filtering. It appears very few companies making surge protectors offer this but it makes a huge difference for electrical stability. I had a different brand surge protector that did not have this feature. I did not know this. My TV was having trouble turning on and off. I made a warranty claim and the TV tech came out and replaced a bunch of parts in the TV. Plugged it back in and the same problem. On a hunch, I changed out the, let's call it the "B" surge protector, with a tripp lite and the problem stopped. This surge protector also replaced a different Tripp Lite surge protector that, for some reason, only offered 800/800/800 clamping voltage. This one offers 300/400/400. So it should offer better protection from a nearby lightning strike. Lastly, as noted by Wirecutter, this surge protector shuts down if it is no longer offering surge protection, unlike others that just convert into a power strip. So I love it. Worth the price.

I have several Trip-Lite Isobar products so I wanted the same brand for my entertainment section. This unit replaced a different brand product. I needed more outlets and I liked how there was ample space for transformers too. This unit also freed up another outlet what I was using to I am completely satisfied!
Well regarded brand with good specifications and form factor

Protecting electronics from storm power surges

Recent microburst storm fried all appliances of several neighbors across the street from our home. Our side of the street was spared based on power line arrangement. It was a wake up call ! So we'll be installing Surge Protector Devices for circuit breaker box & central air in addition plus surge protectors wherever electronics, freezers etc. are plugged in.
As usual buy the best to protect.

We use this unit to protect our entertainment systems. We had another cheaper brand and ended up losing several components during a storm. We will not go that way again. Only beef on this unit is that it is a little difficult to wall mount.
I would buy again

This is a very powerful Surge Protector that I purchased not only for the 12 outlet feature but also for the increased protection for all my electronics. I also like that it has an 8 foot cord that allows the surge protector to be in the position I want it placed in.

I'm in a rural area where outages and surges are common. I've lost electronic equipment or had it damaged, in part because I trusted relatively inexpensive uninsured surge protectors. Finally I have a surge protector I am convinced I can trust (because of reputation and insurance), and when I had a several questions (about connecting a modem/router's coax cable to it, how I might use or not use the ethernet jacks, etc.), I got support on the phone very fast and my questions were answered clearly and thoroughly. The design of this model works great for me, as it accommodates individual plugs along one side, while the opposite side has outlets spaced to accommodate different size and shape transformer plugs. Unused outlets on the protector can be closed, to keep dust and bugs out (an issue in my rural parts). The overall build of this surge protector is high quality. The first time I used each outlet I had to use a bit of effort to seat plug prongs, but after that the outlets feel "just right" snug, not too tight and not remotely loose. Very happy I bought this protector.
Seems to work great!
