Description
DecoNails are designed specifically to securely hang your wall décor items in drywall. They can hold up to 20 lbs (9 kg) on a single nail, and are designed to be installed in the wall at a 90 degree angle so the plastic head of the nail is flush to the wall.
The patented design of the head creates a groove in between the back of the head and the wall, to make sure whatever you hang on it, stays on it. This small head version is designed to work with all types of hanging hardware (wire, D-rings, sawtooth hooks and keyhole hangers) and is particularly well suited to work with D-rings and keyhole hangers.
Removing the DecoNails is simple: using the claw of a hammer, place it behind the tip of the nail and pull it out of the wall just enough to get the claw behind the plastic head, and pull it out the rest of the way. DecoNails are available in two head sizes (small and large) to fit whatever type and size of hardware your wall décor has.

Q: Do these nail easily into a wood surface?

A: Hi Sharon, thank you for taking the time to reach out, we appreciate it! Our DecoNails™ are designed specifically for use in drywall, and as such we don't recommend they be used in other surfaces. The problem with wooden or panelled walls is that they are much denser than drywall, and so the force required to hammer the nail into the surface is much greater. This can result in damage to the plastic head of the nail which is why do don't recommend it for use in those materials. Hope that helps, happy decorating! - The UTR Team

WORKHORSE
These are insanely strong. I’ve used them on wall hooks that are holding wet/dry towels, my purse, blankets. They don’t give up. I’ve used and reused them and they still hold. I’ve used them to hang large heavy paintings as well. The only time I had one slip out was with a coat hanger and the pin was pushed in from the bottom up rather than straight or up/down. They leave MINIMAL damage. Just a small hole that’s easily patched. Needless to say I got my deposit back.

Absolutely horrible
We used to depend on these for hanging decor and frames in the house. Now they are such trash. Two bent immediately, another 3 had the plastic "head" of the nail chip off once something was hung, so now not only do they not hold anything but they're also near impossible to remove from the wall, despite the large plastic piece stuck there.

We are sorry to hear about your experience with our DecoNails™, what you describe is certainly extremely uncommon, and we would love to learn more to see if there's anything we can help with. Having a DecoNail bend while driving it into drywall is very strange, and the only time that we have experienced that in the past is when we have tried to drive the nail on top of a metal drywall screw which we didn't realize was in the exact spot we wanted to use. In this case because you are trying to nail into a metal object the nail will bend after it's pierced the top of the drywall. Were you able to check to see if this is the case for the location you were trying to hammer it into? Regarding the head breaking, again that is something quite unusual as they are designed to deform rather than break off, so we would recommend checking the heads on the nails for any cracks etc. If you would be willing to share more details of your experience or some photos of the remaining nails with us we would be more than happy to help you out. Perfect for hanging art in drywall.
I wish I knew about these earlier. It’s so easy to do. Perfect for drywall, I wouldn’t use them for anything thicker. I hung up a large canvas and a picture frame in 2 minutes with just a hammer. I wouldn’t hang anything heavier though.

As you mentioned, it absolutely is meant to be used in drywall and not recommended for harder surfaces like plaster or brick. Fortunately, the vast majority of wall decor weighs well under 10 lbs, which is well below the recommended weight limit of 20 lbs so your artwork should be secure for years to come. I Have A Feeling Peole Must Be Getting A Defective Lot With The Amount Of Reviews That Are Negative... When I Purchased These In July 2021 They Were Perfect For What I Needed And Are Still Holding Up Strong Today. The People Who Are Expecting These Little Things To Hold Up Mount Everest Are A Joke. Not worth your money! DIY the old fashioned way
Terrible quality, do not hold what weight capacity they say, and the heads break. Half of the pack I purchased was just unusable as advertised. At least I had nails leftover. This was the biggest waste of money. Absolutely hated this product.

Hesitate
They bent super easily when we tried to hang up our pictures. I was very disappointed since they seemed like a good fit for our needs! The picture is what happened when we tried to put them in normal drywall.

Very strong and sturdy. These nails are my go-to for interior decorating. These do not pull out easily so make sure you are certain of the placement before nailing them into the wall. Pulling them out will take a little chunk of drywall with them too.
