Description
The patented design of the head creates a groove in between the back of the head and the wall, to make sure whatever you hang on it, stays on it. This small head version is designed to work with all types of hanging hardware (wire, D-rings, sawtooth hooks and keyhole hangers) and is particularly well suited to work with D-rings and keyhole hangers.
Removing the DecoNails is simple: using the claw of a hammer, place it behind the tip of the nail and pull it out of the wall just enough to get the claw behind the plastic head, and pull it out the rest of the way. DecoNails are available in two head sizes (small and large) to fit whatever type and size of hardware your wall décor has.

Q: Hi: Does this product work on lathe & plaster walls?
A: Hi John, thanks for reaching out that's a great question. Our DécoNails™ are designed to work specifically in drywall, and are not recommended for use in plaster walls. Since plaster is generally more brittle than drywall, we recommend pre-drilling a small hole in the plaster prior to adding a nail or screw in order to reduce the stress and chipping around the hanger. Hope that helps - The UTR Team.

Q: will this work in the mortar of a cinder block wall?
A: HI there, thanks for reaching out - that's a great question! Our DécoNails™ were designed specifically to securely hang items in drywall so we cannot recommend they be used in surfaces like mortar. The challenge is that the mortar is very brittle and prone to crumbling, so the best way to secure something in that material is to drill a hole and install an anchor which is flexible enough to prevent that from happening, and then use a screw in the anchor. Hope that helps, happy decorating! - the UTR Team

Q: Hi, do these nails need to go into studs? Or will they work in any part of the drywall?
A: Hi Mimi - that's a great question! We designed our DécoNails™ specifically to create a secure hold in drywall without needing to use a stud. Many times there is no stud in the spot where you want to hang your wall decor, so this lets you hang it with confidence. However, if you do happen to hit a stud when using in the DécoNail, it is strong enough to be hammered in without breaking. Happy decorating - the UTR Team

Q: Are these designed to make tiny holes so I can use it in my apartment?
A: Hi Gina, thanks for reaching out, that's a great question. We designed our DécoNails™ to be a super secure and damage free way to hang your wall art. The plastic heads of the nails have been designed to distribute the weight of the item you are hanging over a larger surface area than a regular nail, which prevents any "tear out" of the drywall, which typically happens when using a regular nail. So in that sense it definitely reduces the damage done to the wall. With regards to the size of the hole, the DécoNail will make the same size hole in the wall as an equivalent nail you would use to hang your picture. Hope that helps, happy decorating! - The UTR Team
