About this item

Description

From the bestselling author of Hillbilly Elegy—an intimate account of why Vice President JD Vance strayed from the Christianity of his youth and what led him back to faith. Communion is a spiritual exploration of what it means to be a Christian in all the seasons of life JD Vance has experienced—as a child, a young man, a husband, a father, and a leader. Picking up in some ways where Hillbilly Elegy left off, Communion recounts how Vance's pursuit of material privileges ultimately led him into a secular wilderness. Communion reveals how Vance regained his faith and discusses his conversion to Catholicism, how his faith guides his work in public life, and how it shapes his thoughts about the future.

This was an inspiring follow up to Hillbilly Elegy. You can tell that people who haven’t read the book and just dislike Christianity and our VP are writing reviews. As someone of similar age and with a similar childhood background, I find this to be identifiable and genuine.

Save your money

Please don't waste your money on this. Horrible read from beginning to end. Giving this 1 star is actually too generous.

I left feeling like he had extreme disdain for Catholicism. He doesn’t celebrate his “faith”, he mourns it.

Very inspirational. Actaul buyer of tge book

It's sad that people are writing one star reviews because they can without buying the book and do so just for politics. This is a great book and very inspirational

Garbage book, poorly written

Does he have a coherent thought ever? He can’t write, his ghostwriter can’t write. Please tell me he chose personally the TLC scrubs quote. I honestly think ChatGPT wrote this.
