Valvoline CVT Full Synthetic Continuously Variable Transmission Fluid 1 GA

I had the full fluid flush at my local Valvoline Instant Oil Change and was very happy. I had the service performed twice. They used the Valvoline CVT Transmission Fluid. I bought my 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage as a Salvage vehicle, and I could always tell the difference immediately after the fluid flush. I purchased the car with 40,000 miles and kept it until 225,000 miles. The transmission and engine were still good; the rest of the car, not so much.

One of the main concerns is the fluid's viscosity at 100°C, which is approximately 5.6 cSt. This relatively low viscosity may increase the risk of wear due to a thinner lubricating oil film. Since CVT transmissions are highly sensitive to lubrication characteristics, adequate film thickness is important for protecting metal-to-metal contact surfaces. In comparison, many aftermarket CVT fluids have a viscosity of around 7 cSt or higher at 100°C, potentially providing a thicker lubricating film under high-temperature operating conditions.

Works good made the transmission way smoother and grip faster

I performed the first dump and fill on my 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness at 41,000 miles with Valvoline CVT fluid. The CVT holds about 12.6 qts. and the dump and fill replaces 5 qts. The Valvoline fluid mixed well and the CVT was smooth. I now have 82,000 miles on the Subaru. I performed a double dump and fill to replace the bulk of the old fluid with the Valvoline CVT fluid. The CVT runs very smooth with the Valvoline CVT fluid. I also use the Valvoline Restore and Protect engine oil in the Subaru. Another great Valvoline product.
