Description
With the high cost of fruits and vegetables in the grocery store, why not simply grow your own in your own back yard. You'll have much fresher cleaner food to eat, improving your health while saving money on groceries. You are also taking a giant step towards a eco-friendly lifestyle by growing your own produce. It will connect you with your neighbors, and have a positive impact on family life by teaching children about the importance of food quality and production. All while protecting the planet. Or maybe even earn a secondary source of income by selling the fruits of your labor at a farmers market.
Most gardeners today grow Rhubarb to eat, not for its ornamental purposes. Its stalks are succulent like and thick. The leaf is not really used but the stalk is, as it's used in sauces, desserts, pies and jams. Victoria is a green stalked variety, even though it may have some red at the stalk's base. Its taste is nicely tart, with an apple-gooseberry taste and a hint of lemon. It's said not to be stringy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve never grown rhubarb but it was very easy and they seem to be doing great. We have a garden year round and this is making a lovely edition to it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I planted these rhubarb rhizomes within a few days of receiving them. Unfortunately one looked unviable right out of the package. The other four looked ok, so I planted them as instructed. So far three are growing really nicely with several leaves already. I’m still hopeful that the fourth one will come up. I am looking forward to making strawberry rhubarb pie this summer and in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m in love with my rhubarb plants. They are going to provide rhubarb for my family for years to come. Homesteading is very important to us and these beautiful plants are going to help with that for a very long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter loves to make all kinds of desserts and jams with rhubarb. It has such a nice, tangy flavor. We all love it. It looked really good when it came in. My husband has already planted it and we will hopefully be able to harvest next year. We’re excited!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The rhubarb plants came packaged with care. The plants were placed in a pillow of packaging so they were fresh and ready to plant. The instructions were very informative as to how to plant them so they have plenty of room to grow and thrive. I planted them about a week ago and am seeing a little growth already! I’m excited to see the progress over the coming weeks!
