What can I say? It's a worm hotel! Its very well made and looks great in the garden. Does great at storing kitchen scraps for the wiggly fellas to break down and disperse in the bed.

Scratches EXTREMELY easy, expensive for what it is, its bows out when you add the dirt. I almost returned and wonder how long it's going to hold up. Its was a mothers day gift. Frustrating. I would not buy again.

Even worms deserve a home

So, I bought four of these. I’ve had a worm hotel-style composter in the garage for a while—not a Vego, but a decent little system. The problem? My kids like to put their shoes on top of it, which apparently turns it into a worm escape room at night. When I saw these, I thought it’s time to upgrade for the surviving soil noodles. Now I just need to work on mastering my food scraps—because as a Libra, I feel morally obligated to feed all my little compost buddies equally. One note: the lids are a bit hard to open. I’m planning to give them a good cleaning to see if that helps. Maybe I just have weak thumbs tho!

A bit hard to snap the lid in place and they take up quite a bit of space. But other then that, they are serving their intended purpose

Just replaced my 4’ x 8’ rotting wood raised beds with Vego 17” beds. Easy assembly, no missing parts/hardware, and durable materials. Looking forward to these beds outliving me. Also, ordered a set of 24” beds to tuck in to smaller sunny spots in my small yard.

I've had 4 of these worm composter in my raised vegetable beds for 2 years, and now I'm adding 2 more. These are by far the most efficient way to compost kitchen scraps and directly distribute nutrients to the garden, and I think they have played a key role in more than doubling my yields in the past couple years. Plus, it's fun monitoring the worm colonies as they grow over time!

I will be honest I am not entirely sure I am doing everything right with this composter, but I LOVE it. I have it with my elevated Vego garden bed and have very much enjoyed getting the composting process started. It is very durable and the handle seems to keep a good tight latch on the lid. I purchased worms to help the process and have been checking on them and they are getting bigger and breaking down the food. It will be a bit before I have actual compost, but the process thus far has been great and I am enjoying using this product.

Love the composter, only wish all versions had a more secure lid as there are some critters who can pop the lid off and get in. Composting with worms this nway is great for the garden!

Worm composter

Meh! I can't have my worm bin outside, it's simply too hot and there is no shade available. So, I am utilising a spare bathtub inside an unused bathroom. We'll see, the worms are getting settled in and waiting for their first gourmet meal of potato peel, carrot peel, cucumber peel, and tea bags. I grow many bird and wildlife friendly flowers. I'm 68, and I have been gardening since I was 5. C'mon Arsenal

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sturdy and well crafted. A bit larger than i anticipated. But I'm sure the worms are gonna love them and I'm excited to not need to make a separate compost pile.

The critters can open it. I've had my worm composer for several years and the lid doesn't clip securely like it did when it was brand new.

I bought one for me then my mom then her best friend! This is such a great concept- I live in the suburbs so it is hard to find an at home compost set up that is acceptable and does not draw the critters to the houses but this one is hidden down in the garden beds so it’s perfect for this setting- I haven’t had it a full year yet so I haven’t mastered how often I need to stir or how many worms I need in my raised bed but the concept is fantastic- the only complaint I have is the locking mechanism isn’t always easy to open and close- I think because of the plastic material the shape doesn’t stay perfect which makes it hard to unlatch- but I just keep compost in a bucket closet to the house until it fills then dump into this bin
