I bought this backpack after my more expensive diaper backpack broke. So far it's a great value for the price. My criteria were: washable, roomy without being awkward to carry, multiple compartments, a basic black, and something I can use as a regular backpack later on. I have a few other VB products that I love but I didn't want to spend a ton of money to replace the previous expensive diaper bag, so when I spotted this Outlet one I figured I'd give it a try. I find this bag very comfortable to carry. I'm short but I don't think it looks awkwardly large. It's just the right size to fit everything I need for myself and the baby. I use the laptop compartment for the changing pad, diapers, and other change-related things. The big middle compartment holds a backup outfit, nursing cover, bottle bag, wipes, and any other baby stuff I need to have with me. I use the front compartment for my own things like keys, wallet, and phone. It is plenty of space. Cons: it's true that the side pockets are less secure since there's no elastic, but they're still usable as long as you're aware of that limitation. The zippers are not great quality. I don't think they're going to break with careful use, but they are definitely on the cheaper side. Based on my experience with other VB products, I think the non-outlet VB backpacks probably have higher quality zippers. It would also be nice if the big compartment had more sub-compartments so I didn't have to dig as much, but it's still very functional as-is. Disclaimer that I haven't washed the bag yet, but hopefully it will hold up to washing as well as my other VB products have. From a fashion standpoint, I find it pretty cute and it's basic enough that my husband doesn't mind carrying it. If you're interested in using this as a diaper bag, I'd say go for it!

I am using this large backpack to hold all my small knitting projects that use size 3 and smaller knitting needles. I LOVE all the compartments to separate yarn from needles and patterns. Very functional.

Love this large backpack. I use it as my purse, for my wallet, and tote for my Jewlery and computer when going on a trip. Does not hurt may back which is not in great shape.
