A: Yes, I use fabric softener on mine. I just use a small amount, like about half of the lowest recommended line in the lid. I think they feel much nicer than without. And they absorb fine.

A: They are not like super fluffy hotel towels, and not scratchy like linen ones either. It's more like a thick firm gauze, and feels thin when using it almost like a kitchen towel but still very absorbent. They definitely do not push water around as long as you don't use fabric softener on them.

Fantastic Towels!
I absolutely love these waffle towels! these are the same if not actually better quality than the Japanese spa waffle towels that are used and can cost up to $100 plus per towel. the normal price was good on this towel but I was able to pick it up on sale which made it really a bargain. this towel is super absorbent! it's going to have a different feel from other towels that you are used to. this is not your Terry fuzzy soft type towel. this towel is soft but not like a terry cloth would be but it has enough texture to it that it actually grabs the water so it can absorb rather than push it around which is what Terry tells do a lot of times. you must be very very careful when washing and drying these towels though! there are 100% cotton and you can't do what you do with other towels which is put them in hot water and then throw them in the dryer on hot hot heat and just let them go until they're overly dry. you'll end up with a towel for a Barbie doll if you do that. follow the instructions carefully and if you do that you will have a towel that will stay absorbent, stay soft to the touch, stay extremely close to the same size as you bought it, and last an extremely long time! that is the key do not wash it the way you think it should be washed wash it the way it tells you to wash it that is the key do not wash it the way you think it should be washed wash it the way it tells you to wash it. I just wish the manufacturer would offer a larger range of colors to choose from rather than just a few earthy tones they've made available for right now. I think I may just start buying white and stay with that or the cream. I definitely would recommend these for purchase. I mixed the picture up that's with this review and that's the hand towel to show you how much more generously sized it is compared to a regular towel. it is the same way with the regular towels also.

I loved these at first, but they get moldy. I switch my hand towels out every day and I hang them until ready to wash so they don't sit wet. This is the ONLY kind of hand towel I've ever had that has gotten moldy. On top of that, they don't actually dry your hands very well. Very aesthetically pleasing, not functional.
