Not my cup of tea
Very dark book. Cover is playful and colorful and gives one the impression that it is about friendship and difficulties faced in relationships but not at all. It turns for the worse at the end and becomes horrid and sociopathic. It left me feeling a little traumatized. I actually bought a few copies hoping to share with my girlfriends but I am taking those back to the store. I do not recommend it….unless you’re into books about crazy sociopaths, then it’s probably right up your alley. Also, it was unusual that the story was focused around 4 mixed-raced NIGERIAN girls that did not associate with any black girls OR white girls...NOT ONE….I did not get it at all. A lot of stereotypes. I’m a Black Nigerian girl and I could not relate. Maybe relatable for mixed-raced Nigerian girls…interesting perspective though. Either ways, I don't recommend it at all...
