About this item
Description
Max, a rambunctious and sensitive boy feels misunderstood at home and escapes to where the Wild Things are. He lands on an island where he meets mysterious and strange creatures whose emotions are as wild and unpredictable as their actions. The Wild Things desperately long for a leader to guide them, just as Max longs for a kingdom to rule. When Max is crowned king, he promises to create a place where everyone will be happy. Max soon finds, though, that ruling his kingdom is not so easy and his relationships there prove to be more complicated than he originally thought.

I wanted this movie so bad for my grandson. I watched the 1st hour of it when I got it. After about 45 minutes, it went into slow motion. Then stopped. I was disappointed but Not going to go back to a store for $5. I guess 'you get what you pay for'. Barbra D.

I was a little sad watching this movie - it was very slow and hard to get into. I was sad since this was my favorite book as a child and I had such high hopes for the movie itself... it really was a let down.

Very Poignant

It took me by surprise how mature and poignant this movie turned out to be. I was expecting something light and fun but what this movie ultimately offered was insight into childhood anguish, helplessness and the inability to deal with intense emotions. I saw it with my husband and our 11-year-old son. It actually gave me insight as to how my son sometimes feels. Max just wants to feel safe, loved and understood. Don't we all?I think this movie is not for younger children. Those older than 8 or 10 would be able to relate better to it.

We only made it 20 minutes into this movie before putting in a different one. From what I did see, it doesn't seem geared for younger kids; maybe kids over 7 or 8 would like it. I wish I could bring it back. Glad I got it on sale.
