Windmill Air 6000 BTU Window Air Conditioner Quiet and Smart App/Wi-Fi Remote Control

This is a nice a/c unit for cooling bedrooms. Its clean look and fairly quiet operation fits my needs well. Installation can be pretty straight forward and simple depending on if you want it to be secure from potential break-ins by securing with ***** options, which add significant time to installing. Screws must be drilled into window framing in order to make it secure for security purposes. Skip that part (******** procedures) and it does not take much time ar all. Maybe 10 minutes. Add 20 minutes for security measures.

The previous version allowed me to install it in a window that opened at least 13 inches. This newer unit is not only heavier but bigger by at least an inch, requiring the window to open at least 14 inches. It no longer will fit my window (which only opens to about 13.5 inches). It's now nearly the same size at my ***** BTU unit. I'm disappointed because I purchased it for how light weight and small it was only to find out they changed the size of it.

Had some help replacing a Windmill 12,000 BTU this past week. The support from the company is top notch. The replacement has been working perfectly. Was super easy to install by myself. Love that I can control it through the app if I’m not home. I’m very happy with this unit!

very nice unit. Easy to install and does its job quietly and efficiently. The only fault was with the installation and operating instructions; very hard to find and once I found the web page, the link to the operating instructions was ambiguous, didn’t mention operating instructions specifically. Both manuals are now downloaded to my iPad, but you really should make it more obvious where to get these critical instructions when the new owner opens the box for the first time. I’m sure it all makes sense to you, but you need to have someone who is unfamiliar with the product try to find the manuals, especially an older person who isn’t as comfortable using the Internet to find things

I run 3 air purifiers in my little house and getting an AC unit that wasn’t going to be creating all this mold was proving to be rather stressful until I was recommended Windmill by a coworker. The unit runs quieter than my air purifier and honestly cools more than our bedroom. I have two of the fans and love them too. And it’s also aesthetically pleasing. We have used our unit everyday so far and are thinking about purchasing a second one for the other end of the house. My husband and I installed the unit in less than a half hour and the directions were super easy!

much louder than advertised. We can't use in our bedroom as it will kept us up. I put a decibel meter on my phone and on it's lowest setting it's 69 decibels. way more than advertised.

This is the best window unit I have ever had, and I have had many. I've lived in New York City for 25+ years, so I have seen and had my fair share of a/c solutions. You're not going to top Windmill. Highly recommend.

Love this ac, my second windmill So quiet and don’t make me feel sick

I invested in myself as a single mother who is very overstimulated by ambient noise. This is quiet. It cools proficiently and disperses the cool evenly so there aren't hot and cold spots in my apt. I also had a shipping problem and their customer service was human run and very attentive. Very much worth your investment.

I received my replacement unit quickly. Installed a couple of days ago. Working as it supposed to. Very satisfied.

My windmill stopped working and although it was out of warranty after trying everything to fix it and troubleshoot it, the company decided to replace it. A brand new machine just arrived and I’m thrilled. Thanks windmill!

I was looking for a quality, small air conditioner with an emphasis of quietness. With regard to quality and quiet, this air conditioner meets my expectations. However, one thing that was made clear to me in the advertising of this product is the ease of installation compared to other budget mass produced air conditioners. As simple as sliding in the AC through the window and spreading the curtains to meet the width. The pictures of the product on the site went as far as to provide an info graphic of X's, indicating the usual materials that come with other common air conditioners that you will not have to fuss with this product. Maybe it would be a stretch, but I imagine people felt similarly mislead when opening the box to see the same materials they thought they would not have to deal with tacked on with a manual in bold print (45 minute installation). This is something admittedly I did not follow, I slid the air conditioner in, expanded the curtains, and used the materials as needed to seal it. The same materials were used to adjust the AC in the proper angle to make sure there is minimal rattling and buzzing. I will have to make sure to preface since I did not follow the 45 minute installation process, the quirky behaviors might be a result. Nonetheless, the AC has been working flawlessly, but with noises that have been unbearable without adjustments in the window or a good push on certain parts of the front. It happens at random and is usually an easy fix. Normal operation, the sound is perfect and what I was looking for. The only thing I cannot fully portray is the longevity of the this AC.

Fast and efficient cooling. Very impressed with the unit and also with Windmill's Customer Service folks. A great group of people working for a great company!

Much louder than expected. Looks great. I thought this one had whisper tech but it does not. Aesthetically this AC is very neat and clean and nice looking particularly for a window unit.
