Great For Small Rooms!
First of all, this is a small and relatively lightweight air conditioner intended for small rooms. On a side note, ANY small air conditioner is usually a bit more noisy than the larger models - It's the very nature of the size and function. We have a small guest room that has never had an air conditioner in it, mainly because we never felt it was needed and fans brought cooler air into the room from the rest of the house. However, with the last couple of Summers being VERY hot in our area, and our daughter, husband and grandson coming to visit in July, after one night it was clear that something had to be done. After a lot of online research, I decided the Windmill Lite 5K model was just what we needed. Compared to our much larger window AC units, this one is quite small and easy to move around. Installation was a snap, the controls are easily understood, and in fairly short order it was up and running and cooling the room very nicely. It connected quickly to the app on my Android phone, and the app is well explained and makes using and programming it fairly easy. The app also integrates well with Google Home, so it's readily avaialbe there, also. It has plenty of different modes, so there are a lot of configuring possibilities, including ones that will help keep your electric bill manageable. I don't think it's all that loud, but YMMV. The next morning, our daughter and her husband immediately remarked how well it worked and how cool the room was - When I asked about noise, they said it was no worse than the fan they regularly had running at their own house. There's not much more I can say, except HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Far surpassed expectations : )
I don’t usually spend time reviewing products but this one was definitely warranted. Purchased the 12,000 BTU with the hope that it would cool off (at least a little bit) 2 rear bedrooms that share a Jack and Jill bath room and it does! And it does it well with both bathroom doors open and the main hallway closed off...which far exceeded my expectations- the rooms are actually really cool. Packaging was A+ and the install painless. It requires no bracket and fits snuggly in the window. It’s been a few weeks now and couldn’t be happier.

Very Unhappy
Despite our satisfaction with the responsiveness of Windmill’s support and sending a replacement unit, we are very unhappy with the second unit’s vibration and being just as noisy as the unit we originally purchased.

Not as quiet as I had hoped
It’s still a window unit. It still makes noise. And because the air goes up, it doesn’t seem to cool as quickly. It sure was easy to install and it is good looking.

Temperatures and Mode keep changing on its own with the loud beep.
Temperature and mode changes on its own, no matter what I try, I cannot put my desired temperature, and it beeps really loud when it changes its temps or mode and disturbs my sleep.

broke after using it 20 times
I bought this 2 years ago. We only use it on the very hottest days, maybe 10 days in July and August. It stopped cooling. The fan works fine, but the air is hot. I following the instructions for re-setting and it did "reset" but the air is still hot. Would not recommend.

Best A/C Unit Ever Made
We sent back a cheaper China-made model to a box store that sold it. It simply didn't work and seemed quite flimsy. We read about Windmill being stationed in the Big Apple, was impressed by what we read, paid more, and are so thoroughly satisfied, we would recommend this unit to everyone!

Excellent Window AC Unit
I own two Windmill AC units and love them both! They were easy to install which is important to me. They are easy to operate and they are surprisingly quiet! Additionally, I needed to contact support for an issue and they resolved it quickly and to my satisfaction. I very much recommend their products. - JT

Looks Great + Thoughtful Features
Just installed my unit in my home office and it’s an immediate upgrade on my old, basic unit. Looks great, has plenty of insulation, easy setup and control, and quickly cooled down my space and held it as a consistent temp.

Great product and customer service!
The product works great! I ordered the extendable side panels because our windows are 38 inches, but I didn’t need them. The original panels cover the distance just fine. Their customer service was amazing!!

A+ Service and Integrity
Windmill was the third brand of window AC units we purchased in 18 months (portable, u-shaped), and the only one who stood by their product. Customer service was knowledgeable and diligent, and shipping quick and on-time. The window unit is sleek, installation as easy as it can get, the app easy is to use, and it cools a room within minutes. Deciding on indoor, u-shape or traditional units? Go with Windmill - their design is thoughtful, the unit efficient, and service is top-notch.

The future of window a/c’s
These Windmill air conditioners set a new standard for the window a/c market. From the non invasive, sleek design and quiet efficient operation, to the second to none customer service and care, they are what all window air conditioners should be from here on out. They don’t cost much more than the old noisy, uneven air, obnoxious ones do either, and with their deals and discounts they are pretty much the same, but you get a much better quality unit, that truly looks good hanging out of your window. To anyone who is in the market for a new window a/c, I would highly recommend the Windmill. We now have 2 and I will not buy anything else.

Excellent product
I am very happy with my new unit. I purchased it mostly because I was impressed with the design, and i wasn't wrong. This is how ac units should be made.

Love!
Vaulted ceilings and I was skeptical...but it kept my house an amazing 69° during the last heatwave. 12k BTU version. Simple to install. It's pretty quiet, too, which is great for being on work video calls. Love it.

Good customer service
Easy to install, very user friendly. Easy to set up app. Unfortunately my unit was one that started making a loud motor noise, which you might see in some other reviews. However they have really good customer service. After sending a few videos they sent me a replacement! Francesca and Rachel and others were very responsive and nice. The new unit is nice and quiet. Make sure you register your unit!

Quiet gem
As promised, easy to install and quiet. However, the 8,000 BTU Whisper Tech model is large and heavier than I expected.
