About the Author
Cristina Expósito was born in Cádiz (Spain). She holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Seville and a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics of Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Antonio de Nebrija University in Madrid. She has worked in television and teaches Spanish as a foreign language. She has been writing since she was a child. Her mother bought her first diary when she was eight, and since then, she hasn't stopped writing and reading. She fulfilled her dream of publishing her first book in 2016, just months before becoming a mother.
She has written around thirty books, some of which have won national and international awards. Her work has won the NAPPA National Parenting Product Award and the Family Choice Award, both in the US. She also received a Silver Medal for Best Illustrated Cover and an Honorable Mention in the Best Illustrated Album category at the International Latino Book Awards, and an Honorable Mention in the Best Illustrated Album category.
Mo Gutiérrez holds a PhD in Fine Arts with a specialty in Painting from the Complutense University of Madrid. Her work as an illustrator and author of children's and young adult books has led to collaborations with major publishers in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Her work has received several awards, including the BRAW Amazing Bookshelf at the Bologna Ragazzi Awards (2025), the National Prize for Best Edited Books from the Spanish Ministry of Culture (2014 and 2024), the Junceda International Illustration Award in Barcelona (2016), and the WINNER 4th CJ Picture Book Awards in Korea (2011), among others.
