Sheet and hydrogel masks are intended for short treatments — typically 10–30 minutes (many list 10–15 minutes, some up to 30). Cream or jar-style sleep masks are formulated for overnight or nightly use.

Night masks come in both unscented/no-fragrance and scented variants (examples include lavender, green tea and fresh scents).
