@beauty4brownskin Summer ‘Ssentials REVIEW *Versed Keep The Peace Acne Calming Cream Cleanser.
It seems so long ago that Versed held a focus group in which I got to test this product out. This was before I became an ambassador and was just excited to meet Tamerri, Director of Product Development, who is also a Black woman.
Whereas most acne products are designed to dry you out, this cream cleanser is great for my combo acne-prone skin.
Ingredient wise, it contains the perfect balance of ingredients designed to reduce oil levels and excess sebum yet hydrates and wards off blemishes
Rose water- a natural antiseptic and astringent
1.5% salicylic acid- the first ingredient, an oil soluble BHA, designed to clear excess debris/sebum in the pore
Glycerin- a humectant which draws water deep into the skin to improve hydration
Blue Tansy- an anti-inflammatory that improves congested skin, while reducing inflammation and prevents blemishes
With any cleanser that is designed to treat acne I prefer to leave it on more than 60 seconds , almost like a mask instead, so that I can get a better absorption of the products vs rinsing off after 60 seconds. I use this after an oil cleanse, and follow up with the Versed hydration station booster afterwards.
*pro tip- you can totally use this as a body cleanser on problematic areas 🤫
One things I’ve learned from a few esthetician’s is that hydration is actually a key component to treating acne.
If you tend to breakout or experience dryness with acne related toners or serums, then experimenting with salicylic acid as the first step in your skincare routine may be an easier transition into your skincare routine.
