Handsome with an urban design, the Hearald Rectangular Bench has a faux leather upholstered cushioned surface and sets it atop a stainless steel, "X" shaped base. The multipurpose design allows the Hearald to be used as a modern table seating bench, an entryway bench or a bed end bench. The clean lines and sleek look of this square bench make it a piece that goes with just about anything. Evenly padded with foam, the seat cushion is grid-tufted to add modern feel aside from the X-shaped stainless steel base. Made in China, the bench requires assembly.

It is really pretty, but came with no assembly instructions and the screws are short, I had to replace them with longer ones.

Aside from no directions, and scratches in the metal finish, the screws are not quite long enough to bite much into the seat pad. Moreover, the bench still wiggles side to side even after all the bolts and screws are properly installed and tightened. The single cross bar is not sufficient to prevent the bench from wobbling. Returned.

Decent looking bench. Some of the welds seemed a bit rough, but the modern look is nice. Did NOT come with instructions, which lowers the rating by 1 star. The 6 shorter screws/washers are used for the frame and the 8 longer screws are used to attach the frame to the cushion. Shorter screws use the Allen wrench provided. Other ones I recommend a drill. No pre drilled holes from what I could tell so I just centered the frame and drilled away. I attached directions of a similar bench I found online, but it doesn’t match the actual screws used in this one.

I bought this bench to be used in my entryway. I loved the color and style shown online. However upon opening the box, the clear plastic tape covering the chrome parts was extremely dusty/dirty like it had been sitting in a warehouse for years. I removed some of the tape and it was evident it had been on there for a long time. There were scratches on the chrome part I took out of the box. I didn't bother looking another further for a couple of reasons: one being the scratch and two: it would probably take longer to clean it up than put it together. To be fair, the return at Target was very easy.
