Amerock Oberon Knob for Cabinet or Furniture

These knobs were larger than I anticipated so I sent back for 1” knobs of a different style .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Oberon 1-3/8 in golden champagne cabinet knob to test. I like the design. It’s really solid and felt good in my hand. While this is made for cabinet, I used this for my closet door since I needed something sturdy because I sometime hang things on the closet door knob. I found it odd that it had a sharp pin behind it. I’m not entirely sure of its purpose but maybe its meant to go into the wood to make the cabinet knob even more sturdy. Unfortunately, it scratched the closet door when I was trying to tightening it on. It also did not go into the wood even when I kept trying to tighten it, so that was a little gap because of the pin. Overall, I’m a little disappointment that its wasn’t flush to the door. This would have been great knob to use for my closet door.

I purchased about 24 knobs for my kitchen renovation project. These are beautiful and substantial knobs, but they were super difficult to obtain. I had to keep returning and exchanging the knobs because they would arrive damaged. How? Scratches on the surface, discoloration, and dents. On one shipment, I received 20 and returned 18 because they were damaged. It required about 4 exchanges to finally get my needed knobs. When I went to install them on my cabinets, they only had one length screw in the package, which was too short to make it through my cabinet into the knob. Luckily, my existing hardware screw fit this knob so I just reused by existing screws. The screws were machine screws, but somehow the knobs were really hard to screw in. So we had to take the screw and screw it into and out of the knob first then put it on the cabinet door. Not all were difficult to screw, only about 80%. Again, beautiful knobs, but it was really difficult to get them without their being a defect and it was labor intensive to install. If you are willing to keep exchanging them until you get a perfect knob, go for it.

Great high class knob. Large knob has a spike to help grab the cabinet and ensure no movement. Love this purchase
