Samsung DeX Station, Desktop Experience for Samsung Galaxy USB-C Smartphones W/ AFC USB-C Wall Charger (US Version with Warranty)

Still using mine regularly for desktop publishing and light gaming the only downfall is lacking of multi-monitor support

i wanted to transfer files from my samsung 8 phone to my pc. i could not get that to happen and i finally attached my phone to my pc by cable.

The screen won’t fit and the cable doesn’t work on mkdgo docking. Screen resolution is 1600x900 on a hi221 monitor. I tried with s8 and work laptop on 9-21-19.

I love this docking station! The fact that I can work with my phone like it's a PC is wonderful. The only down side to using the station is that the full screen on my monitor isn't utilized.

If you could get the thing to work it might be good

I was disappointed at first because my phone would not fit on the charger correctly with a case on the phone. With a little research, I quickly found an adapter and now it works perfectly. There are some apps that won't operate at full screen, but most do using Dex Labs. I only found 1 app that will not work on Dex and that is Firefox. That's my biggest complaint since that's where all my bookmarks are saved, but that's a knock against Firefox, not the Dex station. This thing truly does turn my S8+ into a small computer complete with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

I was somewhat skeptical about the Samsung Dex when I first bought it. I can say that it works wonderfully. I have literally taken it to work and done all of my work for a week on it. I haven't had any problems with it. I wish more windows could be resized but I still love it.

I use the DeX Station with my Galaxy Note 8 for everything work related at my craft brewery job. From spreadsheets to emails, it does everything I need and more. I even built our company website entirely on the Note 8 via the DeX. It totally replaced my laptop and desktop.

The DeX Station nearly seamlessly creates a PC-like experience out of my Note9. With the DeX Labs software running, all of the apps I have opened run in full screen mode on my 22" monitor. The Note9 is awesome on its own, but paired with the DeX station, it is every bit as powerful as the PC I had been using. I did not expect what the DeX Station provides. It is a remarkable value! Of course, I would expect nothing less from Samsung...

Most of my home have the Samsung label visible from anywhere you stand. But! This product is completely useless and I have no intention of trying to retrieve it from behind my TV cabinet where it will stay until I need a new TV cabinet.

will ethernet cable internet works in S8 + with DEX station?

I love this product! Watch everything on my Samsung t.v when connect to Dec. Better with a 55"screen than a 19". Recommend this to all Samsung owners.

I was excited to find this offering for my S8+, but the S8+ requires a hardshell because the glass exterior cracks if you sneeze on it (mine cracked first day from placing it in my pocket). You can't dock the phone with a hardshell on it. The plug will not insert properly into the phone. I have tried many 3rd party adapters to extend the plug. None work, in addition, it make it unbalanced on the dock. I would not invest in either product again, poor design. I wish I would have known.

So this is a great idea. But it doesn't implement well. I really only wanted it to use as a charger. But since it won't charge while in the case. Then what's the point? They should've made this a wireless charger. Instead it has a port plug. Which means your phones port will wear out faster.

I bought this with my note 9 but not really useful, I have a desktop, laptop already. Don't waste money for this!!

Is this compatible to Note 9? I insert my Note 9, I don't get any response, not even the charging function

Otherwise an excelent idea: Make your Galaxy phone also your PC. But the luck of a proper remote control software and the never fulfiled promis of a "Linux on a Galaxy".. well makes this product just another gadget that you will not use.

This is awesome. While I can't dock my note 9 when it is in a case, it is still worth it. I can dock my phone and either use the phone screen or use a wireless mouse/keyboard to navigate. I prefer the wireless mouse so I don't have to run a long HDMI cable when I want to watch Netflix, etc. on my tv and lounge on the sofa. I have not had to use my laptop at all. Pulling up word docs and excel sheets with my note and DeX is a breeze. My phone charges while docked. I highly recommend. My only wish is that the connection was set out a little farther so I could use the DeX without having to take my phone case off.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dex would not work with my wireless mouse and keyboard. If it will I can't figure out how. It re organizes my phones screen. It won't work with the thinnest cover on my phone. Basically it's useless.

I really love Dex station. As a regular consumer, I find it helpful for me when I am need of getting stuff done from my phone to a keyboard and mouse desktop experince. I have a laptop, but it is pure windows and sidesync/samsung flow are not that affective than Samsung dex. Samsung dex, eventhough it is not laptop level yet, is very useful and convient for productive/multitasking people. The updates I would want, that could actaully appeal for more consumers - more optimized apps - more optimized games - more keyboard shortcuts for all apps. - easy access to my windows laptop. I had to pay for windows pro for remote desktop and then download a 3rd party software called DeX MAX in order to get a full windows experience with a max window - improve performance, when i switch between apps, it refreshes For the future - laptop version of dex. That would be a killer. A touch screen laptop of dex, The phone could be a trackpad and the screen is touch screen as well. Make it foldable as well. Just imagine a samsung dex laptop, all you need is to find a place to set your phone. My idea is a phone trackpad. That would be awsome and I wouldn't care about price. Samsung OS It is like chrome and it is not that perfect. it still has some problems. I am so use to windows OS, with how they keyboard short cuts are and stuff, but a simple update and listening to us would help. Cons: I noticed that when I was trying to add a photo of my samsung dex set up photo onto this review, it led me to 4 options and none of them were gallery. Files app is the closest but Files is not that simple to use. Files has too many folders and labeled incorrectly out of the box. Thanks samsung.
