I just tried this on my layers. Dry second day hair, just on the crown and bangs. I followed the directions to warm the product in my hands before applying. It distributed well and dried in 10 ish minutes without a sticky finish. The scent is ok, sweet but fades fast. But the hold is virtually non-existent. It didn't define my short layers and looked like I hadn't used it at all. It left a little shine behind. I had to tease the layers a bit to get any definition. Disappointing. Two stars for the shine and non-sticky finish.

Not color safe
A warning to anyone who dyes their hair, I don’t believe this product is color safe. After using only twice I noticed significant fading and brassiness to my hair color in the areas where it was applied. This was the only new product in my hair care regimen, so I know it was the culprit. It also didn’t do a great job of keeping my flyaways at bay.

Great product, the only thing that works in my boyfriend’s hair! Unfortunately they discontinued this from Canada as you can’t seem to find it anywhere and all the other versions aren’t good. Please bring this product back!

Used to be a great product.......
The Pure Clean Finishing Paste used to be a great product. I've been using this product for more than 5 years and recently I've found it to be making my hair extremely oily. To my surprise, I hadn't realised the formula had changed. My daughter always picks this up for me from work, as she works in a big chain pharmacy that carries it, so I don't really pay much attention to it, I did notice the packaging had changed, but not the formula. Unfortunately, Garnier has added aloe to this product which makes it extremely greasy. I was in grocery store recently that still had some of the old product and I bought some, what a huge difference, no more oily hair. It seems everything these days has some type of oil or aloe added to it, not everyone wants or needs the added oil. Garnier, please remove the aloe as those of us with oily skin/hair don't need the added oils. Or make 2 products, one with aloe and one without. I'm extremely disappointed as I don't know what I will use to style my hair after the older version i bought recently runs out.
