Q: Why does this have phenoxyethanol in it? I for one an highly allergic to it. This shave cream is for sensitive skin. This ingredient is showing up in EVERYTHING and it is ruining so any products designed for people with sensitive skin.

    I ran out of my name brand shave gel and when I went to the store to purchase more, I noticed the Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel. The price was only slightly more than the national name brand gel. I decided to purchase a can, & I'm glad I did. The scent is the typical clean Aveeno fragrance. The gel dispenses as a translucent cream color. It lathers very nicely as I've shown in the photo. My skin felt refreshed after using the Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel. Aveeno makes incredible products and this particular shave gel meets and exceeds that standard.

    I have tried this shaving gel and I really liked it. The texture is soft and creamy which helps the razor slide easily without irritating the skin. I feel that it hydrates well while using it and leaves the skin feeling fresh and calm after rinsing. In addition the aroma is light it is not strong or annoying. Think it has good value for money because it yields a lot and fulfills what it promises. I would recommend it especially

    Frangrance free, but Harmful ingredients

    I’ve used this off and on over the years. It’s a little on the pricey side. It lathers well but can lead to razor burn in sensitive areas like bikini and even sometimes armpits. It’s marketed for sensitive skin and fragrance free. My primary reason for the lower rating is ingredients. Aveeno positions themselves as a more natural, “good for you” brand, when in reality, it’s just another Johnson & Johnson product. It’s chock full of harmful preservatives and irritants. Yes, this is fragrance free. But staring at the label in the shower, I discovered there are THREE different kinds of parabens, one being propylparaben. (Do your own research.) It also has Phenoxyethanol, which can be irritating for some. Again, another preservative. I understand their purpose, but it’d be nice if these products didn’t have harmful ingredients in them. I will not be repurchasing.
